I don't expect to release my first mission before the year's end, but I have layed out the groundwork and I'd like someone to have a look at it.

 

You mean betatest ingame or look at it in the Dark Radiant editor?

Airship is on fire. And Cambridge, if its plot, or map layout stuff, you can always just post screens or info on the forums, people will give you suggestions. Or you can request a beta-tester, of course...

Work is back on track after a bit of a pause and Of Brambles and Thorns has breached the 25000 brushes, patches & entities mark. Storywise I'm still looking for that knot that ties everything together in the end but things are more and more coming together. As for when it's finished, it looks like this one's going to be a long haul with all the bells and whistles so plenty to go.

Airship is on fire. And Cambridge, if its plot, or map layout stuff, you can always just post screens or info on the forums, people will give you suggestions. Or you can request a beta-tester, of course...

I have a wooden chest with junk inside and I just added the lid. Unfortunately, because the chest is so close to the wall, when the lid opens, part of it goes through the wall. Is there a way to move all entities related to the chest at once?

So far this year we have only seen 3 original releases. I should have the accountant 2 and another smaller mission out before the years end which would bring the total to 5 but that seems to be a big drop from the previous year.

 

What about the 3rd part of VFAT or the second Mission of the Quinn campaign? At least there are 5 missions then ;)

Sorry I am mistaken, you are right there are 5 original releases this year!

 

My original point though was that the number of original missions released this year so far is quite a bit less than the previous year (which was 16). And just to clarify i'm not worried that it means anything negative I was just curious what was happening and from the posts that followed it seems like a lot is happening just behind the scenes which is even more exciting. :)

I think many people are working at game items at the moment, like sounds, models, textures, etc. to enhance the next update. We've got many new folks helping out at the moment! :)

 

This doesn't mean that you should stop mapping. Go for it! :D

Any word on new upcoming missions? The upcoming fan missions wiki page is 404...

Please feel free to ping me with tentative mission titles here or via PM (or update the wiki yourselves if you have edit privileges).

 

So for the accountant series could you please remove the part 2 and 3, as part 2 is already out and part 3 is on indefinite hold.

 

I do have more parts of the Shadows of Northdale series coming out though it's hard to say exactly when that might be.

Great work there! Also just to let you know the protagonist in Shadows of Northdale is Corbin.

 

He's everywhere. :D I suppose he's the closest we have to a Garrett figure (though quite different in many ways).

Somewhat off-topic, but I'd like to ask whether I can upload the official screenshots for TDM FMs to an image category on our wiki ?

I'd source them from our ModDB.com account, the Images gallery we have for TDM. In case we decide to give missions separate short articles in the future and would want to attach a screenshot gallery.

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

      Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

      Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
