Can't Drop Shouldered Body (Twice Now)

I meant to report this the first time it happened, but there are so many cool things that do work that I forgot!

While beta-testing for Sonosuke's upcoming "Living Expenses" (which so far has done an excellent job of exploiting the greatness that is TDM), I got myself in a situation that, as I said has happened before in another FM, was quite frustrating if not for the fact that I'd quick-saved just proir... I have a shouldered body that I cannot drop. I'm not in a tight space; I can walk in to the middle of a huge space and still not drop this damnable heap of a burden!:angry:<_<

Sorry if this is a known bug I gave a little search but found nothing... delete as necessary.

(for fun, try shoulder a rat corpse... :))

Added a bug report for the rat shouldering issue:

I already had one about not being able to drop them, which I thought was far more amusing.

When you walk around with a rat corpse over your shoulder all of the guards keep shouting at you to drop the body etc, the mental image is great.

LOL. Funny, but I think more reason to forbid shouldering rats and other small animals. Presumable a spawnarg can be set in their entity defs to prevent this?

Isn't there a spawnarg called "is_shoulderable" or something similar? I'm pretty sure I've seen one; it probably just wasn't added to rats.

edit: Yep, it's

"shoulderable" "0" //cannot be shouldered

I've gone ahead and added it to the animal defs.

The rats in TDM are awesome enough that they should be able to be shouldered while they are live to retrieve keys in the next room, etc haha. I think its time to introduce the Mr. Squeeks companion to the world of stealth ;)

My FM may or may not contain a rat helper already (and now you know how I found this slightly strange gem of a bug :P)

Ah thanx.

The vehicle-related scripts can actually be adopted to make a remote-controlled rat fairly easily. The hard part is getting the camera to follow the rat, never quite got that working.

I had been tinkering with the idea of doing that with some sort of observer ball item that you could creep through narrow places and spy around corners(since the normal observer orbs were a little bit on the useless side). If all else fails, mod TDM into a rat fighting deathmatch.

I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
