I have this weird sound issue with my current FM. I use location settings to play various ambient sounds. When I go from one location zone to another it switches to the correct sound and I can't hear the other sound of the previous zone anymore. Now when I quicksave in this new zone and then quickload after that it starts playing the sounds of both zones, even though I'm in this new zone. If I then walk to a new zone it playes the correct sound again. What could cause this issue? The FM is finished and ready to be released but the sound issue breaks the atmosphere.

Check your visportals, they can do strange things with locations, you can try changing the locations light setting so that the differences are visable. Any leaks in visportalling might result in something like this, so if you can see the areas are different, try the 'solid visportals and a hole to the void' method for finding leaks. This is just a guess tho :)

There seems to be an issue with location settings and saved games. When I reload a game, the ambient music in a location doesn't play. When I enter a new location, it starts, but things are silent until then.

Please file a tracker entry, I'll look into it.

The thing is that it really doesn't matter where I am. It happens in every zone I have. So not just two in particular. After the quickloading in the new zone, the sound of the previous zone I was in starts playing as well, but only the one I was previously in. So after moving through three zones and then quicksaving and loading, the ambient music of the last and second zone will start playing, but not the first one. I checked for holes but I couldn't find any. Does it matter which side the visportal side is facing with ambient music and if I have them sticking a tiny bit through the wall, floor, ceiling?

Could this cause the same issue I'm having?

Might be, we have to investigate it.

Okay thanks for the quick reply, I'll try to do a work around, which would cause the problem to happen less often and then release it.

My hunch is that the location based script doesn't recognize the quickload situation and does not know it just changed from "nothing" to the "current" location. But had not time to look into it.

      Hello mappers and taffers!

Are you still out there? It is so calm here these days and I am afraid this is no good sign.
Proof me you, tell your best friend (=me), that you are still here and that you will not go away!

Happy Labour Day, my taffing taffers & hard working mapping friends!
And remember the poor souls who, within the Inventors’ organization, labor under Jonus’s yoke to ensure the success of that very guild! Always remember the hard workers!

Is there a script command to make a screenshot?
I just though it could be interesting to be able to create a screenshot at a certain point in time. Then use that screenshot possibly in a debrief.
I guess the second question is: Can you use a (in-game made) screenshot in a (debrief) gui?
