... or something like adding a town in the game

 

That too would be a tremendous effort, but I like the idea! Maybe expand the training mission so it is a small town and the game is always started from there. You would then need to start a FM from a black board in a secret hideout or something, like e.g. many RAGE missions were started. But as long as the mappers are working on the campaign I don't think anyone would do something like this...

A very motivated & talented mapper with a lot of time might be able to do some of these things. But he or she would still need to work within the current mission structure. E.g., you can't backtrack missions in the current setup. But I would never underestimate what a clever mapper can figure out even with these restrictions.

 

For that matter, dukerivera08, have you ever thought about mapping? Why don't you go through the tutorial and when you learn the ropes, maybe you can figure out a way to make your dream map! ;)

This already exists within the context of campaigns. The mapper stipulates what carries forward, and what may be spent is based on what's earned.

Not all maps are based in the same city/town/village/country/time period.

 

Hm, I never noticed anything pointing to different countries or time periods, TDM always looks like a generic fantasy world mix to me. And you could solve the citty/town/village issue by making different boards called "jobs out in the country" or "city jobs" or similar. Still there would be an additional problem with campaigns where the player character has a unique name and isn't faceless...

I wanted default food to be inventoriable (making that word up) as well, but I like being able to hold it too.

 

There would almost need to be a special key or command just to put it in & out from hand to inventory, but I admit that's awkward & unlikely.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

You could choose the "use" key to put it into the inventory, like when taking a candle and snuffing it out. Once in it could only be consumed and you wouldn't consume it by frobbing it...

I'd like to see more than one noble woman. (I know you can change heads) I would also like a maid. (woman in maid outfit) Like the one in Dishonored.

Also, everytime I try to use a building (decal) I get a leak. Is there a trick involved? Doesn't it work like a texture does?

is it possible that we can hide under tables? like in dishonored where you can hide lower than crouch but only when going under a table

This effect can be faked.

Well, not exactly like this one.Would need a longer say, white skirt attached, down to the ankle. But in a Mansion setting, having a whore or a wench that are dressed the same, but with

different heads, is not much of a choice. (as a servant) And didn't they have maids, in our setting? If not my noble woman is confused....

Yeah, I have a servant girl model mostly modelled, but still needs to be rigged...one of the many things on my list of things to do.

I know how busy you must be. If I knew how, I certainly give it a go, and submit it for approval. But, I am struggling to get my first map released for approval.... :rolleyes:

I've noticed that the archers are quite vulnerable while they put their bows away, in order to draw a melee weapon. While I think that the animation for putting their bows away is good, I wonder if it might be better for them to either drop their bow and quickly draw their melee weapon, or just keep their bow in hand. If they drop it, they could pick it up later if circumstances allow :laugh: If they keep their bow in hand while wielding their melee weapon it might look silly due to clipping, but I'm not sure. It might look good. Is this even worth any attention at all?

They probably should be vulnerable for choosing a career in archery & not staying perched in a safe place.

Haha, maybe so :D If I were an archer/bowman being charged by a taffer with a short sword and I didn't have an arrow nocked, I think I would either hold onto my bow for some kind of extra defense/offense or quickly drop it, instead of taking the time to put it away before drawing my melee weapon. But there are countless changes that could be made to the wonderful Dark Mod, that don't necessarily need to be made.

In Dromed you had vocal choices for Garrett to comment on the present situation in the game. I miss that. It would be nice to be able to insert vocal comments at critical points of the game. Most of the time they were hilarious to me, because I had similar thoughts. It just made it seem more realistic. To do it in DarkMod I guess you'd need a speaker and triggers??? As well as the recorded audio of course. I don't even know if you can use both a speaker setup, as well as a Location Settings, setup together? I tried it but had no luck. But, this is another thing that doesn't necessarily need to be made, as SirGen states.

      Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!

Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname.
