standard pc.. mine is (i think ^^) not low-end I have 4x2,9 Ghz, 4gb ram and a faster gtx 260

Hi Berny, your system isnt far of mine (Qx9650@3.2ghz & HD5870) so its not low enough for this test. I'm looking for people with single core Cpu and gfx card older than Geforce 8xxxx and radeon 3xxx.

But she's been taken out of commission as of yesterday, as the GeForce fan seized up (and that's what that faint burning smell was...). <_<

Your system is one Id like my map tested on..

 

Core 2 Duo 1,6 Ghz,

2 gig RAM

Ati X1600 with 256mb

 

Your isnt really low end enough, I know the map will run just fine on that. As Ive been told by one my current testers who has an intel gfx based laptop that he is getting 30fps almost everywhere..

I actually have a 7300GT as well but it would be an ordeal to dig it out of the basement and install it (because my wife would throw a fit... sore subject... I earned a little side-money to get my current video card...), If it's not too late and I have a wife-free day off (she sometimes works on my weekend) I will do it anyway (curious to see if my moon beam performance issues go away as well...) I recall Vanilla Doom 3 seemed to run just as well on that card (if not better) than my 4650... damn ATI and their crap drivers... the 4650 should SMOKE the 7300GT... (well they are both CPU limited in my system so I cant be too hard on ATI)...

Well, that machine never had D3 on it and, worse, it's out of commission anyway. VC fan died=> VC overheated=> BSOD=> Off button.

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

      Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

      Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
