There are plenty of opportunities for you to glimpse them, but you won't interact with them directly. Keeps up the mystery. :)

The moment you interact with them in game, some of the mystery is lost. In a six mission campaign there isn't enough time to savour the mystery of who they are, what they are capable of, AND go up against them in-game. Our entire second 'chapter' of the campaign will likely focus on them.

I would also like to sneak past them, but i think that spring may be right, in that it will kill some of thier mystery. What we might do is have them watching the thief at some point in all the levels, where they are very hard to notice. And if the thief looks at them, they dissapear into shadows.

That's exactly what I had in mind, GIMG.

the founders are our G-Man!!!!

LOL.

Yeah, it's always better to keep their mystery. In fact, it's probably better if we did'nt even say much about them, just to keep their mystery. BTW, I noticed that the public bit is sorta empty as of late - probably after we told them it'll be a year :P .

I think it's time to update them just a tad ;) .

What does everyone else think?

Here's something I've been working on for the founders. I wanted them to look somewhat non-human...these guys have been around for centuries if not longer, so they are either undead or something stranger. Of course, you'll never get this good a look at them normally.

More versions coming...having to get used to drawing with a baby on my lap. :)

I wouldn't say undead, they are just a species who naturally live for a very long time, unless killed (by what means you can kill them I doubt we'll find out)

I like the hat there though, it's the most suitable one yet.

I guess we're going for the gaunt boney look to the face just like the original pictures, but we'll need a mpore unique coat/robe/whatever.

Civillisation will not attain perfection until the last stone, from the last church, falls on the last priest.

I'm working on the outfit. Should be able to post in a few days.

Ok, here's a version with the outfit. I based it on a victorian overcloak and robe, but added the Dark City sleeves and gloves because dammit, they look cool. Don't know if it looks too anachronistic now or not. Most of the time you're only going to see their silouhette anyway.

edit: the face is artificially bright here...normally it would be much more in shadow.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
