Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. Â Not nec. - we got castles/doors/etc like that around here. Some of them have been here for thousands of years (the wood has been replaced, tho we do have a table plate that is at least a couple hundred years old that survived because someone used the table as a door inside a house Quote "The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Tels 278
That one is about 50km from me: https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1541&bih=1059&q=castle+eltz&gbv=2&oq=castle+eltz&aq=f&aqi=g2&aql=&gs_l=img.3..0l2.1573l6090l0l6357l17l17l0l0l0l0l450l2944l2j10j3j1j1l17l0.frgbld. (It is one of the few that were not destroyed by the french in in the 17th) Here is an overview of the area with themost improtant castles and ruins: http://www.castle-liebenstein.com/germany/rhine-river-castles/index.html Then there are of course the old city centers. In the city where I live, the church is from 1230 or so. I literally walk five minutes and stand in a small TDM mission-area  You should visit some time Quote "The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Glyph Seeker 19
Saw this on the front page of Reddit - in my mind I imagine loads of these as islands crumbling in the middle of Bridgports waterways: http://i.imgur.com/Lx2wa.jpg Quote "No proposition Euclid wrote,No formulae the text-books know,Will turn the bullet from your coat,Or ward the tulwar's downward blowStrike hard who cares—shoot straight who can—The odds are on the cheaper man." From 'Arithmetic on the Frontier' by Rudyard Kipling

Garreth 15
Artisticaly it is not that great but it sure scares you a bit when you first glimpse it.And it is not just a cheap scare. In the Resident evil mansion this is the room where the tiger statue was, now it is the devil room. ERH+ 661
I love such places, too bad demolished buildings have so complex geometry and it's so hard to place portals...And here some fine interiors and trinkets:http://www.gardnermuseum.org/
demagogue 1252
Cool. I'm getting inspired by the idea of doing the basic geometry and portaling first and then overlaying it with complex brushes, patches, and even model-geometry so you can get the best of both worlds. If you have the overlay crossing and growing into walls organically to hide the seams, I think you could get away with quite a bit even with the constraints. Quote What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Very simple base terrain, then overlay details. There's a tut on the wiki to go with it. Quote Dark is the sway that mows like a harvest

ERH+ 661
Wow, new city over the lost city. It looks even more odd than I thought. About technical side, there is still hard to avoid open spaces, it will probably looks like 'rooms' filled with 'opened' building.
