I fiddled with the formatting options there but could only get the text in two sizes. I was thinking of fiddling with HTML sizing tags but site seems to chronically reject standard HTML or CSS code (even though there is a "Code" tool). I can't claim to be an expert in HTML so I won't knock things too badly.

HappyCheeze (probably wisely...) didn't grant me the ability to edit other members' "edit permissions" so if yours are missing you will likely need to ping him. :)

I know you can vote again and again, but really how many times? I've been registered since 2006, had to log in, reset my password. I voted a few times.

And they probably remove double votes anyway, plus, they might even punish us for double voting. So don't do that.

They mention this on their website, they watch voting very closely so no funny business guys or we get disqualified and I doubt we would even be told.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

I edited the front page, can a Mod change the title to: "The Dark Mod has made it into the Top 100"

Intrestingly enough, that again changed our release date to "2009-10-16", not 17th. *sigh*

Something is broken on moddb.

Methinks AH wanted to change this thread rather thank the Moddb site.

I was thinking of a gratuitous Top 100 "news" article but I need some screens to go with it mang...

AH, can you upload some screens to your Moddb profile (can't touch webmail when @work)...

NP, any particular map or any will do?

What I really want to know is how this description ended up under TDM in the Top 100 page:

In The Dark Mod, you play a master thief living in a dark, sprawling city. As a master of the shadows, you move through the city streets unseen, avoiding the eyes (and blades) of the city's thieves' guild, while doing jobs for the political factions.

Yeah, we probably should have gone with:

The Dead Mod: Source (code). This mod has you battling zombies for survival, with hot weapons (firearrow), mines and explosives in exciting MP (can be played multiple times) battles. The enemy (city watch and builders) is already up in arms. The fate of Eyours lies dangerously unknown.

:D

(It is actually a bit sad seeing the other mods (about 99% fighting, war, strategy (fighting) and so on) and their descriptions (ours is quite good compared to the mess some left there :)

Yes. Unless you have a nifty plus symbol on the Images section for The Dark Mod profile, I can just modify (or worse case) download and re-upload from your profile. :)

well according to the scoreboard, they've had over 3 million unique visitors to the site, of which 83,000+ voted in phase one, and currently 17,000+ have voted on the top 100.

double voting doesn't work as the system only counts unique votes.

it records your username and ip address, so if they get loads of votes from loads of usernames with the same ip address then, phut.

Well it's nice to see we've made the top 100, and are alone as the top Doom 3 mod. That's saying a lot right there. It's not like we're in total obscurity. We're just not catering to the kind of mod you want to have when you want to win contests like this. But we're winning the greater contest of actually being quality & fun to play IMO. B)

Of course I voted again with a vengeance.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Where did you get the numbers from? Also, is it possible to know how many people voted for TDM or which spot we actually got in the top 100? (On second thought, maybe I don't want to know :)

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
