TDM in Gamplay magazine

TDM is mentioned in this month's Gameplay magazine. Quite a few people in Belgium and the Netherlands read this magazine, so this is good stuff :). It's mentioned in the Mods section of the magazine. Besides what TDM is in general, they emphasize that in the first place TDM is a huge playground with one training mission and an extensive editor. They also mention that there are +30 fms available and the graphics are impressive. Some good PR eh :)?

Please also post where we can order this?

Hm.. From this I got an idea. There is this finnish gaming magazine 'Pelit', (the most influential gaming magazine in Finland) which sometimes does articles on mods too. I sent them a mail suggesting that they would make an article about TDM.

It is worth the try. Let's see. I'll let you know if they reply to my suggestion.

I was thinking same. However I'll probably wait for 1.06.

I think that PC Gamer UK has covered the mod a couple of times ---

The writers now write the RockPaperShotgun website, which has a weekly mod roundup. Good idea to keep them informed whenever there's an update or a big FM release. =3

"No proposition Euclid wrote,

No formulae the text-books know,

Will turn the bullet from your coat,

Or ward the tulwar's downward blow

Strike hard who cares—shoot straight who can—

The odds are on the cheaper man."

Yeah I did exactly the same. Took them a while to finally write a small article about it though.

As far as I can see, you can't order this month's release yet. You can always send them an e-mail and ask them administratie@pcgameplay.com

It says:

Did that one thief 4 screenshot grasp you? Than there's good news for you, at least if you have a copy of doom 3 lying around. Because the Dark Mod is a total conversion mod inspired by the universe of Thief you must perform the most dirty sneaky jobs in a dark world. The makers are very proud of their grey world which only contains "groups of people who believe in affairs they cannot possibly prove". So no good or bad here, in essence you can do whatever you want. The Dark Mod is in the first place a big playground with a single training mission and an extensive editor to create your own missions. In this way, there are over 30 missions made so this graphically impressive mod deserves some of your attention.

Dang, the link is outdated, does somebody still have a copy? I'd like to host it on bloodgate.com.

I just did so, but I don't know the exact issue number, so it might be a bit hard for them to provide me with a copy...

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
