Any Artists Out There?

I've been watching some playthroughs of some of my favourite Thief:TDP levels like "Down in the Bonehoard" and I've found myself wondering about hints of Lost City stuff or precursor civilizations as discussed in the Thief background thread. Got me hankering for some more old bones, so I sketched out a couple of Fire Shades or possible undead mages as I might imagine them lurking in deep sandstone caverns!

"No proposition Euclid wrote,

No formulae the text-books know,

Will turn the bullet from your coat,

Or ward the tulwar's downward blow

Strike hard who cares—shoot straight who can—

The odds are on the cheaper man."

I'm gonna bump this as I've been doodling.

Trying to get into a general air of productivity, glueing some Warhammer 40k mdoels. I generally get more pleasure from drawing them, however!

@SP

Thanks, man! I just looked over some thumbnails, might try some pagan monster doodles or some more undead, they are fun to draw!

Springheel drew quite a few images of what he thought the feel of a normal Bridgport scene would look like - those can be found scattered about and on his website - and of course in the main menu when it loads in TDM.

I was hoping for some drawings/scratchings of places which we can recognize as places in a fm now.

Here it is...I don't think it's a spoiler:

Thanks, Springheel!

I believe LemonyFresh had some similar art of an isometric view of a level he was trying to get made with someone. Kind of a pier / fishing village affair.

I would like to show my drawings. They are not related to TDM topic, but I will show you that what works there. (TDM, there are concept drawings, which created the campaign Sly Project, but have not scanned them. Later.)

My linkthese are my drawings

I especially like this pencil portrait and the main landscape!

Well, I did this, but it's irrelevant to TDM ...

Wow! That's very nice Grayman! I have always had an aversion to colour pencils, even colour generally - trying to cure myself with some Gouache paint I bought just recently. =3

Brainstorming some designs and paint schemes for some Space Wolf Dreadnoughts - I don't know why but I'm really happy with the bruiser at the bottom of the page! I wish those power claws weren't like £10 from Forge World >.>

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?

Hope everyone has the blessing of undying motivation for "The Dark Mod 15th Anniversary Contest". Can't wait to see the many magnificent missions you all may have planned. Good luck, with an Ace!
