Can someone please help me to

get out of the irrigation tunnels. I've reached the skull room and pulled the lever to the right . Now I find that the entrance way is snowed up and the only way out seems to be past a steam pipe where I die every time I try to squeeze past. Is there something to pull to stop the steam? I could hear something opening when I pulled the lever , what am I missing ?

Thanks

There's a hallway to the right of where you came into the skull room with another hall running off that. After you pull the lever run like the wind down these hallways, climb over the pipe and there should be a ladder from a manhole hanging down - jump on the ladder and climb. I did a practice run before I pulled the lever so I was ready to climb the pipe and get on the ladder because if you slow down at all the skull seems to get you. Don't know if you did this or not but if for some reason the manhole cover doesn't seem to open, it may be because you stashed a body on top earlier in the mission. If this is the case I think you have to go back to an earlier save and stash it somewhere else.

Hope this helps.

Enjoying it (even though the daylight sneaking part IS a bit too frustrating), but I think I've found a problem:

In the hedge maze, there's an access hatch into the irrigation pipe system.

This is where the optional objective amulet is.

However, I can't get back up without noclipping, because that bigass horizontal pipe is blocking the ladder!

Help I've lost the plot !

In spite of the kind help from Thiefette , I was unable to beat the skull to the hatch in the irrigation tunnels probably because I have a hand problem and can't move the keys fast enough ( that's my excuse anyway !) So I noclipped up and found myself inside the maze. Needless to say I didn't use the gates , they were closed.

Can I still finish from here , or won't i complete some objective because of noclipping. If that's the case I'll have to surrender and leave it here !!O.K now answered it myself and finished.

Thought

the maze bit too hard ( for me anyway ) , too many AIs wandering around. Maybe more knockouts should be permitted on a lower level. a couple of gas arrows would have come in handy.

The tension should be lowered when you exit the irrigation tunnels the proper way, through the hatch. That trigger isn't activated as you noclipped through the roof into the maze. So done the proper way, no AI will chase you in the maze, unless you do something unappropriate there, like moving on the small hedges or jump into the water around the statues...

Oh , I see ! Trust me , but as I said , the old hands don't move so fast anymore ! Anyway , I enjoyed it even the way I finished it, so thanks for the mission Fieldmedic. p.s Loved the mountains , reminded me of my many trips to Switzerland AND Austria.

I installed the mission today and tried it on all difficulty levels. Sorry, Fieldmedic, but I am always murdered, when I try to enter the house. There's just no place to hide! I appreciate that some folks could even finish the mission, but I cannot even start it properly. Frustrated after 1 hour of trying, I'm giving up.

No 'Reaping' for me. :(<br><br>Edit: I gave it one more try and - hooray! - I found a way into the house _and_ a dark spot to hide in. Everything's fine and I even finished the mission, which was quite rewarding. <img class="bbc_emoticon" alt="B)" src="http://forums.thedarkmod.com/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif"><br>

Thanks for that experiment!

I liked the innovations and the focus on a nice story. I also liked how the carriage moved along at the start of the mission. For all that I'm sorry to say that my playthrough had been mainly a trail-and-error, quicksave and quickload experience in the outside areas but the labyrinth. Not your fault. TDM just seam not to be suited well for daylight environments.

Kudos having been courageous in trying Fieldmedic! :)

Played this FM last night. This is one of my top-10 favorite FM's. 5 stars in all categories.

Is it easy? No. Experienced TDM players, who enjoy a challenge, will not be dissapointed.

What's so great about this mission:

Creativity (daylight environment, tension meter)

Numerous interesting and changing objectives

**story telling (one of the best stories in TDM)

challenge (because of day light environment)

interesting and exciting map (tunnels and maze)

Is there a loot list? I am playing expert. Need 35 more loot to finish.

Read about some stolen jewels, possibly in the tunnels, but dont know where to look.

Finished it, and I must say that this FM is a challenge, but for the wrong reason.

Rather then avoiding patrols, skulking in shadows, its a game of trial and error to not move around while someone is watching in your direction. Leaning around corners is useless because you will be instantly spotted if you do that.

This I think is what the FM should have fixed. Leaning around corners IMO should only cause suspicion, not cause the guard to instantly run at you and hack you down or the maid to go crazy in shock and run away.

Also if you alert someone then they should not kill you merely ask you to leave the premises & follow you until you do, if you don't then they would knock you out or something like that (why would someone stab you to death for stepping on a bed of roses, or for jumping on to a hedge or splashing around in the water around the statues? These people aren't red necks :D)

Thats my main issue with this mod is simply lacks the realism of the situation making stealth in broad daylight a painful shore rather then a challenge.

Theres the guard, and a maid that constantly go outside, and Alma is constantly moving around the pool table, dining room and study. (why the study of all places? considering there is no where to hide in there you will instantly be spotted).

But apart from this I have only nitpicks, like theres a mirror in the house and when you look at it you are wearing Thief's leather armor and mask... but when you leave the (high tension) restricted grounds, everybody doesn't seem to notice that your dressed as an assassin. So I assume that your character is actually dressed normally, like a detective would.

A minor issue is the sewer part where you find the amulet, its really hard to get on the ladder (had to noclip out).

My last issue is the ending, why did you have to frame Alma. I was a little shocked at that and would never have done that. Why couldn't you just tell the truth minus a few details?

Bernard was the one who hired the Pagans to go to farm and kill Oscar, they failed and where driven back. So Bernard had decided to finish off Carl off himself (thinking Oscar & father is dead), and probably had asked him to go down into the sewer with him. They had a fight and Bernard got his head slashed (thats how I killed him :D) and Oscar was severely injured and died of the frost down there. Bernard had his diary with him probably planning on disposing it considering in it he admits to his evil deeds.

Nobody found out about this because the sewers where off limits.

And father is still out there somewhere...searching.

Simple. Done.

You have the evidence for it to back it up.

Why you had to force the player to do something so immoral is sort of beyond me.

Oscar wouldn't have payed you anyway,

Thanks for the informative review!

Yes, the main issue with this mod is the binary nature of the AI. Either they don't care about you, or the'll hack you down. And this mission is an eminent example on that issue. At first I thought it would be playable nevertheless, but believe me, I thought over these annoyances a lot of times when playtesting but rather than giving up, I decided to release it as an experimental mission; I wanted to go all in on the season theme and decided to go for a summer daylight mission.

It was a while since I last played this mission so I cannot remember all the details and may be wrong on the names, but the reason for Oscar not paying you is that he ended up in the frost land himself, after taking over the farm.

Why wouldn't the protagonist be so evil that he could frame Alma? He's not exactly a well doer, he's only in for it for the money and besides, he suspects that the sole reason Oscar hires you is because he WANTS to frame Alma. Also he takes the opportunity to steal stuff. But to be fair, I briefly remember me and my fellow designer Ziggun discussed this ending and I believe he was sceptical to it. But the reason for adding it was to wrap up the ideom in the title; Reap as you sow. Everybody got what they deserve; Carl stealed the statue, Oscar wanted to frame Alma, Bernhard summoned the pagan band to kill his father, Alma was bitter not to inherit and it's quite unclear how she took over the farm. And you are a common thief and framed Alma that actually was innocent to the death of her father so you didn't get any money from Oscar.

oh and don't get me wrong though! I loved the story (the length of the dairies startled me at first XD but when you think about its realistic because in real life people seem to want to write down all their thoughts). The underground part in particular had good tension, the use of the clanging sounds really got my hairs to stand on end. And the mission looked unusually good considering its in daylight, I wasn't expecting it to look this good because of the dark nature of TDM being its main visual appea-l but the textures are all quite nice. Though I expected the maze to be a bit more... maze-y

that ice spreading skull coming towards me actually scared me :P

And yes you are right that it fits the Title perfectly heh the end text gave it away :D

at first I thought the ending cinematic was the father but now I realize that the father wears green clothes so it must be Oscar :)

I suppose that its all about the complex nature of morality. I think stealing is morally ok aslong as its from the wealthy but framing someone so they could be sent to prison is stretching it for me :/

Its in there, just not that obvious to find i guess. Its a very nice feature, but i think many, like me, would also download from the web because you get to see screenshots and generally more info before you decide what to play.

The downloader also provides screenshots...also within the game menu. It's all in there based on user feedback.

Well it turns out, i'm not as clever as i thought. :)

But it all works fine now, thanks for help.

BTW. This mod is truly a masterpiece. Loved it since the time i saw it.

I'd gladly help with mod, but all i know is how to translate english to polish and as you can see: i do it poorly :)

I've updated the articles for your FMs and your author category at the wiki. Your newer nickname (DeTeEff) now comes first, and the one in parentheses is your older nickname (Fieldmedic). Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
