thanks everyone for good words. I'll keep them in my mind.

I do hope you continue what you have started Siyah - the idea of a contest is to encourage mapping, not to make people feel bad about finishing. =-)

And you totally should. Again, very encouraging!

And to you too, Xcen I say the same thing - don't be discouraged - I love seeing things being made. =-3

Awesome screenshot, Xcen. Hope the actual FM will be on par. In that case, it will be more than worth the wait.

My Eigenvalue is bigger than your Eigenvalue.

Thanks SP! Even work in progress missions are good to see as it gives people ideas and gives them a chance to give encouragment. back. =-3

I love libraries designed like that, reminds me of the Oxford Union library a bit.

I must say, even with the tight deadline, this contest has been one of the most successful (and we haven't even seen the Bikerdude + Flanders FM yet). The missions are tight, well-written, look great and are a whole lot of fun. I am really happy it has turned out so well.

Siyah!

You are such a perfectionist

Step back and repeat after me:

"I am SiyahParsomen. I craft masterful spaces and beautiful scenes. The Dark Mod community is dying to play what I've shown. I am good enough. I am strong enough. And gosh darn, people like me!"

Oh well.

Keep posting those pics too.

And we'll keep hoping to see the scenes for ourselves. ^_^

Digging that library, Siyah, digging it indeed. I'll have to spank Fieldmedic into building something similar for me one of these days, just so I can write a whimsical tale of a scribe trying to loan a book while dodging overzealous, sword-armed librarians....

One of these days....

Moin,

I mirrored the last two missions here:

http://bloodgate.com/fms/claw.pk4

http://bloodgate.com/fms/antr.pk4

Fidcal, could you please enter them in the DB in TDM?

I added those to the missions pages. (Spiffy new privileges  ).

I'm not sure if that propagates to your mirrors system.

:D good for you, I am not sure I ever got permissions for that system.

It's just a file dump, so if you add the links to thedarkmod.com, the in-game downloader will know to download them, also people will see the link on the webpage. So all is good.

Only thing missing now is the wiki page, but I am not sure anyone still uses it - the ingame downloader is much more easier to use.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?

Hope everyone has the blessing of undying motivation for "The Dark Mod 15th Anniversary Contest". Can't wait to see the many magnificent missions you all may have planned. Good luck, with an Ace!
