Hey there,

 

I felt that some plants could do with some love, and with a pile of textures lying around from old projects I'm slowly going through them.

 

The first two ones that might cause 'issues' have been put into the SVN. If you have any comments about them - please let me know. I might add some specular to the plant_03, but for now I think it's fine and is the best I can really match the old -- diffuse only texture.

The fern texture was very basic and artificial, I've replaced it with a normalmapped realistic looking fern, it looks pretty sweet.

 

I do notice one or two models need slight adjustment, but it's nothing bad at the moment, I'll make tickets for them in the next few hours.

Very nice, but do you have screenshots, or could tell us which models use the new one? Do you have a small testmap?

Ah yeah sure :

 

Screenshots of the textures are :

Increased levels so that they're easier to look at.

You can see the texture rolls over at the leading corner of the leaf mesh, that needs a little fix.

Are there plans to apply the translucent-shading-trick rich posted some time ago to the plants by the way?

I thought about it, however I both hate modeling and having to try ensure vertex normals are being correctly applied, it wouldnt be hard to change.

I have a few thicker fern textures which can be used on bushes and such, I'll be adding those as skins once I've tested them out. Oh and the barrels in the 2nd pic are also slightly updated, they look a bit better but nothing drastic.

      Is there a script command to make a screenshot?
      I just though it could be interesting to be able to create a screenshot at a certain point in time. Then use that screenshot possibly in a debrief.
      I guess the second question is: Can you use a (in-game made) screenshot in a (debrief) gui?
