Looks great! Only thing I don't like is the logo. To me the "Crucible of Omens" text just screams "I just found bevel and emboss LULZ", if you're going to use bevel and emboss it needs to be subtler. I wouldn't use that layerstyle at all and just try to make the text fit in better with TDM logo, I'm no typographer so I'm not sure I could improve it much. Also I would try to use a cleaner version of the Dark Mod logo (no text) as right now there's just too much text on the logo and if anyone's curious about the campaign they should be able to read that it's for TDM in the text and still easily recognize that it's for TDM by the pure clockwork. Again, everything else looks great.

These are great news. I have just recently discovered the greatness of The Dark Mod. Are you going to use any fo the fan missions in the campaign?

To my knowledge, there are no plans to add existing missions to the campaign.

If you wish to play some missions that are connected by one story, I recommend you try:

No Honor Among Thieves (3 mission mini campaign)

Sotha's "Thomas Porter" Series in this sequence:

1) Mandrasola

2) Knighton Manor

3) The Beleaguered Fence

4) Glenham Tower

5) The Transaction

Melan's missions, "Return to the City" and "Fiasco at Fauchard Street" are part of his Talbot series which he started in Thief 2 fan missions.

Fidcal has also kept a story going for his "Thief's Den" series:

1) Thief's Den

2) The Chalice of Kings

3) Heart of Lone Salvation

4) The Alchemist

Don't want to be too greedy for info here, but I thought I'd throw a few questions out anyway:

-Any idea how many total missions will be in the campaign?

-Estimated release date?

-Will the campaign have a hublike setup? (ala The City portion of TDS)

-Any new factions introduced that will be usable to mappers in the future?

-Any fancy new toys/gadgets/weapons?

I only ask cuz...I care. B)

I don't want to spoil anything and am only slightly knowledgeable...

*There's a good amount of FM's.

*Nobody wants to give a release date and fail those expectations, but as previously been stated it's a good way along.

*No hub, there's a lot of coding work that would need to be done to make that possible in TDM atm.

*Factions/ tools, not sure really. But that might spoil the surprise if I did know anyway. Probably not tools for sure, vine arrows were just released and i think that was the last player tool that TDM team needed to get in game and working. But I'm sure there will be new content by the time 1.08 is released.

I don't think we really need new gimmicks / gadgets... Some monster or something that was lost in the warp like the belcher or elemental would be fab - but I think what we all really want is a series of levels with plot continuity.

One of the things which is so exciting about Thief is how things go from Bad to Worse in the overarching plot. We don't need to see what great plot the Trickster is actually doing in engine - the readables absorbed over hours of gameplay and the atmosphere of the levels sinks in and we can imagine the World at large outside of the missions all the better in a campaign! =-)

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
