Rottenberry 0
Today I learned in the newspaper, and some magazine (well my dad did, and he told me about it) that America is working on some robots that they can send to war, different models, some that can hover, some that can fly, some that crawl, so on, with a whole bunch of high tech stuff attached. Supposedly these things are gonna be ready in about 20 years. I mean I'm no fan of war, but I mean... robots like that? Thats just like, starwars stuff. I mean, thats pretty damn cool. Hewer 0
I saw a TV spot on something like that. It didn't have anything about hovercrafts or crawlers or anything- what it showed looked a bit like miniature tanks that are remote controlled. The spot said they'd be ready in about 5 years because they're actually just putting guns on these vehicles that they already use to search for land mines. The article your dad told you about sounds like something out of Popular Mechanics or Popular Science magazines.
Ishtvan 17
I bet in the near future, whenever international diplomacy breaks down, we'll all sit down to watch a great episode of "robot wars." I'm betting on whichever country has wedge-shaped robosoldiers.
oDDity 3
It's all about avoiding the embarassment of casualties - US army casualties that is, anyone and everyone else dying is just part of war and can't be helped... Hopefully these high tech robot soldiers will be able to distinguish ally from foe a little better than your avergae GI Joe. Don't know whats so cool about that. If you are hurt or shot you are just as hurt or dead as if a human does it. Just try to stick your finger into the power outlet and see if it hurts less just because it is a mindless wire. Quote Gerhard

And those poor countries which don't have this wonderfull technology, well they will have to bleed just as they do now, but at least we can see these wonderfull machines doing it. Much more cleaner that way. Quote Gerhard
Dram 123
OMG LOL, where are we going with this?
Domarius 2
It's scarey when you see some predictions of the past coming true. The Sims 2 being the most popular video game EVER, seems like something out of a wierd sci-fi novel, where the most fun that humans get out of a computer, is a virtual world like theirs but they get to create any fantasy they want.
