I tried playing this last night but was getting black walls in the corridor at spawn. Ambient settings didn't seem to make any difference. I downloaded it through the downloader (which should be on the fixed version I'm guessing) but the problem was still there even after replacing the pk4 manually with the one linked above. I played A Night to Remember instead and that worked fine. Any ideas?

Haha, wow, oh boy...I thought I had already upgraded but even the version number staring me in the face in the menu didn't make me twig. All fine on 1.07, thank you.

I've just finished and didn't realise it was that small, although it was an enjoyable little diversion. With a little polishing and expansion it could be a good little introduction FM for new players.

Talk about tiny, No wonder I didn't hear of this back then. Even the apartment was unnaturally claustrophobic. I expected it to be a lot more difficult to find the hidden chest. I actually expected to get a shovel and dig around a large big garden in the back, to my dismay it was much easier and blander than expected gameplaywise. I did find it weird that I had to kill the guy but heh, I'm not complaining :D

Boy was it tough though that underground builders structure. Lights, metal floors all make me sad. On the challenge factor it ranked quite high considering how small and how few builders there where. It's tough to say whether I liked it or not. The visuals I think where quite good overall but there wasn't enough for me to give a favourable mention.

Holy smoke!

This is by far the shortest Thief mission that I've ever played! It took me only 4 minutes to finish it lol

Anyway, as TheUnbeholden said, I was dissapointed at how easy it is to find the hidden chest.

In fact, for me, the whole mission was a walk in the park.

But considering it's historic value, it's a worthy conversion to the 2.0 version of TDM.

Bug report:

-For me, changing the difficulty didn't affect at all the objectives.

Just replayed the mission and found a bug:

I did not kill Dougal (blackjacked him instead) before searching for the scepter. I also sent the levator back up after riding down to look what is underneath it. But after getting the scepter, the elevator does not respond to the button anymore. The button still makes a click sound and moves. But the levator seems to be stuck.

I noclipped around a bit and investigated button behaviour further:

The top button only sends the elevator down.

The bottom button only sends the elevator up.

There are two skybox leaks in the upper elevator room:

Between the planks of the closed door and in the small tunnel leading out near the ceiling.

Would be nice if knocking out Dougal would tick off the objective. Because there really is no need to kill him just for reading the note on the wall.

Apart from that, the mission is tiny but well polished and still looks good in 2.06.

I finally got around to playing this old classic, and it was worth it just for the nostalgia trip. I finished with a perfect stealth score and all but one loot item.

Despite the simplicity of the layout and the technical difficulties in mapping at the time, this is still a well constructed and fun little tiny mission.

My missions:           Stand-alone                                                      Duncan Lynch series

Down and Out on Newford Road              the Factory Heist

                                                                                                  A House Call

                                                                                                  The House of deLisle

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
