What kind of fucked up world do we live in where someone explains what's wrong with this, *demonstrates* all of the underhanded and shady behavior that is going on behind the scenes, and yet finishes it up by calling it a great product once you work around all of that stuff?

Exactly how much abuse will these people tolerate? How far does Microsoft need to go before they decide enough is enough? It blows my mind that people would pay a hundred bucks to be subjected to this.

The chances of seeing something good after the name "Hitlerbuttsucks" seems slim.

I can't believe India got to this:

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

- 2 July 1844 letter to James Russell Lowell from Edgar Allan Poe.

I got a 23 inch full HD LED-backlit monitor for $50 yesterday. They gave me a different AC adapter that is rated at a mere 1500 mAh though. I really should get a bigger one. I destroyed plenty of AC adapters when I was younger, by overloading them.

I enjoyed this game. The American version is much harder (and better) than the Japanese version because the enemies are more aggressive, there are more weapons, and they seem to come with more health too. The game-play mechanics are good, for example if an enemy throws a knife at you but you step out of the way, it can hit another enemy! It was never that way in the old NES games, enemies could never harm each other. They love to block attacks and they try to surround you. You can also grab one enemy and still attack in a different direction, and the bodies that you send flying also cause damage. This means strategy is key when there are three enemies coming after you. I just wish there were more environmental hazards, like spikes or pits. Its always fun to take enemies out by flinging them off a cliff. There's one level where you're fighting on a moving vehicle, but sadly, you can't knock enemies off the side... My favorite part of the game is at 30:03 because of this reason.

Its cool how even games that are this old can still be fun to play.

Awesome that somebody made this happen. I wonder why an official version never came out back in the day? Its not as if id was against offering games on other platforms than the PC, even then. There was Doom for SNES, Jaguar, 32x, and Wolfenstein for SNES and Jaguar.

Games that are this old are often more fun to master than newer games.

Mechanical depth tends to do that, though to be fair newer games do have entries like Metal Gear Rising, Devil May Cry 4 (Special Edition) and Double Dragon Neon, so you have glimmering examples.

I like to record difficult stealth games, and right now you wonderful people are the only ones delivering on that front.

Click here for the crappy channel where that happens.

Something about this song just stuck with me.

Its cool how people even created a file format for the music from this machine. (.spc) Even my phone can play them now, and they take up about 64kb per track. :)

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
