Computer Man!!!

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

I have been riding a motorcycle for over 25 years now, I have only had 3 minor,1 medium (in the last 10) and 1 serious (over 15years ago) accident all of which I walked away from.

  • Almost half of the accidents are due to bad tarmac or tyres in those countries.
  • Then there is the ever present C*nts in cars/vans/trucks issue - some of which are trying to kill on purpose.
  • Another alarmingly big chunk was down to riders not reading the environment - I can't believe how carelessly stupid a lot of these riders are..
  • Almost half of the riders did not have the right clothing, some riders not even doing up the strap on thier crash helmet......
  • Another chunk was poor machine control, mostly throttle.
  • And then lastly there the idiots, on both sides - who clearly should not have been given a licence.

Motorcycles get unfairly treated in most countries including the UK, but at least we have decent road education (1:11 is a classic british example) and law over here that prevent most of the above.

The best comedy parody we'll probably get until elections on him.

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

- 2 July 1844 letter to James Russell Lowell from Edgar Allan Poe.

After ordering one of these, I feel like an idiot. Look at what a fucking job it is just to change the battery!

Its so hard to find a decent phone. It was either this or the Note 4. Note 5 is junk because of no expansion slot. Note 4 would be good because of easily changed battery, but since its older, its got less memory and will probably be obsolete faster than this Zenfone (which was cheaper).

What's interesting about this video is how they all produce a sound at an identical pitch/tone. I guess that's because of the fact that AC runs at 60 cycles per second.

It makes me wonder if it would sound that way if this happened in another country with different electrical standards.

... and wow! That explosion at 1:06 looks straight out of GTA

That is very cool, the only think mssing is the insulation around the bus bars and where they enter/exit the cells. The overhead cooling fan is very cool and applicable, are you an engineer in RL btw..? Everything I have seen in this ship of yours follows solid engineering principles, which I love seeing in games.

No I'm not, I only found it easy to mimic / be inspired by real world machines - to the point it is losing steampunk-ish style I'm aiming.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
