Well, there are actually quite interesting things happening with nVidia physX. Have a look at all the particle effects and the dynamic groundsnow in Batman Arkham Origins. Another great example is the first (!) Bioshock. Ok, no real-time simulation, but still!! There is still the question, however, whether you actually NEED that precise realtime physics calculations. I know I don't!

I was playing TDM the other day and I threw a body in the water. I do that frequently. I can imagine a day in gaming where dragging an object around in the water will cause a displacement and make the water swish around.... no pre-computed animations/shaders, no clipping problems, pure physics calculations!

EDIT: That video is pretty awesome. Actually ragdoll physics in general are still pretty impressive, even those in TDM. Its so weird when I play older games like Urban Terror. Every time I die, I see the same two animations... lol

Is there anybody out there who DIDN'T have this idea when they were little? I certainly did!

That arc is crying out to be hooked to a vandergraff generator or some other kind of voltage multiplier, awesome.

Below we have quite an awesome video, but then when you have an advertising budget bigger than the GDP of iceland....

I love football! After all, I live in Dortmund and you just gotta love football here! :) But that commercial is just way too boring compared to the price they probably payed for it...

Found this perusing the DayZ forums... looks interesting.

Looks pretty cool. I imagined a game like this but set on a living alien planet, and heavier on the basic survival part early on. Then you would really not know what to expect.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

I dunno how this presents itself to you, but for me it seems like an ordinary day at the academia.

Some kind of (collaborative) research going on, the professori didn't supervise properly, there is strong symbolism of discontinuity (the reaper), and it ends with a lecture by some international high-level scientist, where the local professor kneels in the before the authority of the other.

Worth to watch, even with the music only.

I always loved the music in this game, ever since I was a kid... and those are the best remixes I've ever heard.

Also, I swear that lady talking later in the video is the person who played the role of the female scientist in Penumbra Black Plague! It sounds JUST like her!

I'm very proud to say I've gotten a better PC and can now actually play a lot of the missions I previously had to shelf.

Idea I had for a mission center which loads different submissions from it without set order.
I add it to my list of things to add to a (first?) mission..

I started using Unexpected Keyboard for Android phone.
It's pretty cool, because it has an actual Ctrl key, which you can use to do cut, copy and paste actions via x, c and v. pretty handy in the forums, to move quoted text around for example.
