The Dark Mod on RPS and mention on Dishonored Steam page!

The RPS linkage is great, because it has spread to other game sites:

PC Gamer

NeoSeeker (This news piece is worded a bit unclearly, and seems to give the impression TDM is a Thief remake instead of a fan mission platform.)

The team has had to endure much, but soon there will be order again. A new age. Aquinas spoke of the mythical city on the hill, soon that city will be real and we will be crowned its kings. Or, better than kings... Gods!

A bunch of pretentious old men playing at building worlds. B)

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

And now, as Google Alerts tells me, there is an article on Gamefront, too! Looks like 1.08 has captured the imagination of a lot of people. That's pretty cool.

Over the night, an article also went up on Kotaku. The user comments are... funny.

Why not just play Thief?
Why Masterbate when you could have Sex?

P.S.- Thief is to Dark Mod as Masterbating is to Sex, great if you haven't had Sex before. Less than ideal if you have.

I'll just continue to wait until Thief IV - I'm sure Eidos Montreal is gonna have it in the launch window of the PS4 and Xbox Durango.

This is neat for people who want to mess with mods though.

I tried this mod when it first came out and was annoyed its JUST a mod. You have to download user levels to do anything. To much effort when I could just play Thief 3 (with HD textures added) at anytime.

O-kay...

Thanks for the mention, though!

Haha, Sotha just won post of the day.

Old men ... are the future.

Well this is cool we got some good press. Seems like updates are a good enough excuse, which argues in favor of more frequent smaller updates.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

This is great! More articles! More exposure!

Let the knowledge about TDM spread like wildfire! Let our FMs spread across the hard drives like a swarm of locusts! Let it spill over the schools and churches, let the bodies pile up in the streets. In the end they'll beg us to save them. The team has had to endure much, but soon there will be order again. A new age. *Grabs some medicine*

I'm just glad that I wasn't drinking anything when I read this otherwise I would have spat it over my keyboard due to laughing.

Well seeing as how every website mentions the huge update as being newsworthy, smaller updates would probably not warrant news like this.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

Lol! Now that's a quote I'm going to have to use somewhere....

It depends, I think. When the update is accompanied by delicious screenshots and other resources (say, YouTube videos demonstrating certain new cool features), my guess is that it will.

My Eigenvalue is bigger than your Eigenvalue.

Anyone with an account on here want to set them straight? I'd love to post a link to Arcturus' grass test or a screen of NHAT 2 or 3.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
