HappyCheese & Nyarlathotep

Well seeing as Fidcal and Springheel seem to be ignoring me I'll ask here.

HappyCheese & Nyarlathotep I noticed are on the tdm member list on moddb but not for the one listed on this site. Wondering what their roles where?

Noticed some others like PPoe are not listed under "other contributors" eventhough hes done work translating the mod.

HappyCheese was the original promoter at Moddb. He also is a mapper who made the (excellent) mission "Awaiting the Storm".

I'm pretty sure that Nyarlathotep was one of the original "beta mappers" who were to help make example missions for the TDM 1.0 launch? (not sure)

Please visit TDM's IndieDB site and help promote the mod:

(Yeah, shameless promotion... but traffic is traffic folks...)

Sorry, I've only just come across this by chance and have not seen any other request for my help. I just can't keep up with posts these days. :(

As said, HappyCheese was a beta mapper but has not been active for a while. I did a bit of work with him on After the Storm. Remember that well. I did the puddle. :) Nyarlathotep I'm less clear about. Quick search doesn't ring any bells for me although I know the name of course.

The member list on thedarkmod.com is always a bit out of date since it is updated quite infrequently. It also lists only the most important people (however that list is actually choosen), mostly anyone who gained the status "member" on the forum. (I'm not sure about this, tho)

A complete list of people who contributed can be found in the AUTHORS.txt file distributed with TDM. It is AFAIK complete, however, it only lists translators and some small contributions tied to nicknames - everyone else is just in a big list w/o mentioning the work (or amount of) they did.

I'm not sure wether both HappyCheese and Nyarlathotep should be in the AUTHORS.txt, tho. Did they contribute to the mod, or just made FMs? PPoe is already in there.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
