Update the updater for linux seems broken!

When I run "tdm_update.linux" the first thing it does is make sure it's up to date, which is fine except two things:

1. When it relaunches itself, it breaks the connection to the terminal screen so no amount of "^C^C^C^C^C" will stop it.

2. It changes directories somehow because it tries to download the whole mod again in ~/.doom3/darkmod/darkmod.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Richard

You probably have a very old updater version, these had problems with updating itself. Have you tried to download a recent version from here:

http://www.bloodgate...pdate_linux.zip

unzip and replace the one you have and then start it again.

About the console: Oh, yeah, that bugged me, too. We are short on developers, but you could still create a bug report for it: http://bugs.angua.at/my_view_page.php

Edit: I forgot: If you have the directory .~/doom3/darkmod/darkmod and place the updater into .~/doom3/darkmod/, it probably will change one level down (because darkmod/ exists). So delete that directory and try with the newest updater again. That behaviour could be improved, too.

Yup, downloaded that twice. I think the problem is it picks the wrong directory right off the bat so when it doesn't see tdm_update.linux it goes ahead and downloads it again every time.

The only fix I've found so far is "tdm_update.linux --target /home/richard/.doom3/darkmod" and it says everything is up to date.

I've been good about "rm -rf darkmod" out of ~/.doom3/darkmod/ so I don't think that's the problem...

Thanks,

Richard

Have you placed tdm_update.linux in "~/.doom3/" or in "~/.doom3/darkmod/"? In the latter case I think it again creates "darkmod", changes there and starts again? That's strange as it seems to work for everyone else.
