Tried this, even when I went out that window above the crates I think all I could do was jump down. Hmm now I will have to go back in to find the sweet spot if for no other reason than to see what's behind that upper window  . I eventually just got boxes from the kitchen to climb to the balcony.

Edit-

Went back in and was able to make the climb as you showed - don't know how I missed that window when I was up there in that room  I had some difficulty getting on to the pipes and was thinking I should be able to climb to the roof edge the first time I was there. When I couldn't I guess I just jumped down. I never thought of hanging from the edge.

Anyways still enjoyed the mission.

if I understand the clues well, I have to lit the leftmost torch with fire, the next one with water, then moss and the rightmost torch with gas. Is this correct?

Almost. You have to start with another torch :cough: picture

I have the same problem. What is the correct order for lighting the torches?

You need to look at a

mysterious picture? If you don't have this then here is a hint - read a diary about a blessing that needs to be done

bigger hint

holy water is good for blessing

biggest hint

shoot both statues with holy water and you'll get the correct order for the torches

If you need more direct help let me know.

I accidentally used an arrow I needed for that, after briefly forgetting that I needed to save it. Unfortunately I had quick-saved soon after and my last regular save was at the beginning of the mission. Otherwise I only missed 15 gold. This will be fun to play again to get the other objective.

That's why it is an optional objective. I thought of such a situation. But at least you have a reason to play this wonderful FM again :P

Great mission!

Just at the beginning of the mission I thougt I knew what the original Old habits were, to get uncertain at the first floor. Yes, the basic layout is similar, but I think this is a completely different mission. So I don't really see this as a rebuild and I think your demand to keep the original file online is more than justified.

Nice rework!

And quite a bunch of new stuff for a replay.

I found a couple of truncated readables, where several pages are not continued on the next page as expected.

E.g. the Priest diary and a few others.

Since TDM1.08 is out, I was under the impression that an issue popped in with some of the fonts.

As you rebuild it for 2.0, did you notice any difference? Do the fonts/readables work OK there ?

I neither experienced any problems under 1.0 nor under 2.0 and you are the first one who reports this. :o

There are soo many pages where one can see that parts of the text are missing at the end of various pages, that it becomes frustrating to read them.

I can upload some screenshots later this evening.

I noticed this also - just thought of it as intentional - you know - old book pages go missing.

I've just checked it and you are right. This problem occoures on two readables. I've fixed it and will upload a new pk4 in a moment.

Thanks! :)

EDIT:

Oh, one more thing:

I do not know if that particular chair is a standard TDM model or your own creation, but it seems to have a problem.

The 'back support' (or however one would call that in english) is not solid.

AI's may drop behind it. In this particular setup, the AI will get stuck and shake for several seconds just like it was obsessed by evil spirits.

Recreate: shoot a gas-arrow at the sitting AI at the bottom of the staircase (preferably at the middle of its chest - for the best results)

Hey,

I'm stuck for a the simple reason that I'm missing 4 keys...

- the key nr.1 to go up where guards are patrolling, the halls are red

- the key nr.2 to a door up again with the first upstairs we encounter when we start the mission

- the key nr,3 to a door down in the chapel, near the room of the... acolyte I guess?

- and the final key to a metal door in the chapel

I've tried to throw a noise maker to see a reaction, somebody or something coming out of the doors but nothing. Can someone please help me here?

@AluminumHaste: Ah, now I know what you've meant  Here are some hints

you get the picture in the chapel

it's mysterious, you have to do something special to get it

there is a hint in the diary of Lord Aaron IIRC

If all those things don't help you, here is the solution

you need the holy water potion in the chapel. Fire a holy water arrow at each of the color-changing statues in the north end of the chapel. Both statues also give you hints, but don't worry, they are also printed on the picture.

#1: Those doors aren't locked

#2: there is no key for that door, find another way

#3: I guess you mean the quarters of the priest. Again, there is no key for that door.

#4: You can find it in the quarters of the priest

You can finish the mission without having to find a single key. I guess you've overseen something.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
