Like most places, if there's a champion for a project or idea, it gets a lot more attention.

Somebody there really likes us and brings us up at staff meetings  (...is my bet.)

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Yup, Digital nightfall I believe built one or more of the levels in Death of the Outsider. Some of the guards and characters have the names of a few of the ttlg forum members.

Oh!

It's why they're so adorable (I love the Mine! It's one of the best levels ever seen IHMO - so much fitting atmosphere! A pure visual and exploration delight!)

Task is not so much to see what no one has yet seen but to think what nobody has yet thought about that which everybody see. - E.S.

I wonder how long it'll be before the game companies start tracking down the best authors & offering jobs, if it hasn't happened already

Dram.

Nice article, but another misquoting of TDM's name in the title, no mention of stellar missions like Requiem, and the rather bizarre insinuation that you have to download the tutorial mission. We need to get someone in the comments there, ASAP, and do damage control. :D The base pack, at the very least, has the tutorial and those two story missions. No downloads needed. Couldn't the author get at least that right ?

Maybe he started downloading missions without checking for anything first and after that it's basically impossible to recognize the missions that came as a default. Again I recommend to rename them to something more obvious to make them appear at the top of the list!

DSO gaming has revised our build version to 2.4 rather than 2.06. I guess that's fair since it's a pretty big change in tech:

Every other site lists it as 2.06, so to be fair why can't they?

LOL I was joking about their incorrect version number.

They probably just guessed based on the last build they saw in google.

Haven't had a chance to watch this one yet:

https://linuxgamecast.com/tag/tdm-2-06/

Just had a quick look through it, they talk about TDM at 39:05 but it’s quite brief.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
