OH :D Perfect! :D

 

To players: this is a really *classic* (but not linear) FM, it's all about exploring every corner: so don't rush!

Changelog v2->v3

 

HUGE update. Barely even the same map. I needed to update/repair some broken stuff for TDM 2.0, and that turned into a complete re-do of the entire map.

  • New areas, new entrance and exit
  • More AI in different areas; changed AI behavior
  • New sounds
  • Simplified/fixed architecture
  • Re-distributed loot (and much more of it)
  • Better layout of rooms, especially the ground floor
  • Better lighting
  • Re-written readables
  • Objectives modified and moved around
  • Non-linear gameplay (you can do the mission 'backwards' now)
  • Complete re-texturing and re-decorating
  • Mostly new AI paths, some of which with previously-unseen AI behavior
  • New eye candy
  • Now is entertaining in 'notarget' mode
  • Slightly less gore in the dungeon (changed the head to something else)
  • Fewer bugs
  • other stuff ;)

Isn't this fixed by naming the TDM folder "darkmod"?

Didn't realize because I downloaded the 2.0 release version :D

At first to say is, that the map is a lot better than version 1. Still I have problems with all the locked doors and chests.

 

Here's wher I'm stuck:

 

I have a lot of keys. The last I received where the Captains key and the Dungeons key. For me it seems like I tried every locked door twice but I can't find a way to go on. I didn't find any of the secret plans yet. Where do I go next? And how am I supposed to open up locked chests that I can not lockpick?

Captain's key opens captain bedroom locks (not only door ones), except for the metal chest off course: 'cause there's another key for that :D

Dungeon key opens the dungeon door! Exit the briefing room and go left!

A known, non-critical bug:

 

There is an optional objective, not existing at game start. It is possible to do it before actually adding the objective, thus not getting credit for it. This is a very minor issue to me, but might really annoy others. Will look for solution for a future bugfix.

A question about a specific room and it's inhabitants:

 

 

Does the man in the prison cell have a special use? I mean, if I free him he does run like in Cragscleft Prison but he seams to be scared of me and the other guards won't bother with him. What went wrong?

I'm just sruck with a simple thing, I have a stolen key and I know what for problem... where is the door or chest for this?

The stolen key belongs to something(s) on the third floor.

The other guards should bother with him. They try to kill him if he leaves his cell. He doesn't serve much of a purpose, other than to give the guards a distraction. Not sure what caused his status with the guards to fail to change when he escaped.

Important message: the in-game downloader SigeShop version is the v2, not the v3 (the newer version).

      Some of you who've been on the TDM discord know I was out of work last Winter, just putting in hrs for the developer portfolio. Currently I've been working a seasonal job to pay the bills and now I'm finally in my last week before I get bumped off. Things will be tight but I'm planning a long off period to make as much content as I can. Big plans in Unreal Engine as well as my most ambitious TDM collab yet! Never been so excited to be a stuck at home to pursue my life's work. With a lotta time and maybe some luck, I'm hoping to get enough art work done that I may start applying around to studios.

      I finally got around to play Prey and I truly loved it. It is an incredible homage to System Shock and Deus Ex. While the gameplay is not en par with those two titles, the game makes up for that with its well written lore and story. The whole "world" just feells so authentic and it features a ton of really god environmental story-telling. Recommended for every immersive sim fan, i.e., everyone on this forum.
