Last line missing from some readables

I've noticed that sometimes the last line of a readable is missing (at least, I have to infer this from other information, because the text just stops short), and I remember having particular problems with the "Heart of Lone Salvation", because I seem to remember that some of the readables there are particularly important.

Here's I think another example of the same problem, from the description of "A night to remember", this is from the in-game mission downloading screen before downloading the mission:

Note that the last line of text reads

And like always, she promises that this one

I presume the text is truncated, it stops short at the end of the page, and I can't find any key or button presses to view the next page. In this case it looks like dodgy line breaks in the rest of the text have forced this. I'll keep my eyes open for other examples.

My screen size is 1920x1200, 16:10 aspect ratio.

Can you list your full system specs with driver versions please.

Sure. Running 2.0 native on Xubuntu 13.04 with GeForce GTX 660 graphics with default Ubuntu drivers (proprietary nVidia, version 310.44 as reported by nvidia-settings, X Server version 11.0). Ample RAM (64MB) and CPU (i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz) resources.

However, I've also seen the problem with truncated readables on Wine running 1.08 Windows version, otherwise same system and configuration, I can check the specific example if that'll be helpful.

The Heart problem, IIRC, has to do with making it translatable. When you alter a mission so it can be translated, the text gets shifted slightly and can result in a line going off the page. That shouldn't affect the mission downloader though, so I'm not sure what that problem is.

So I have the same problem as well, it concerns only in-game readables (books, scrolls). I've played only training mission so far, but I can't to set my gamma and brightness for example, because I simply can't read the instructions.

No, it's a rather standard 16:10 ratio. 1440x900

upd: I've just tried other ratios, like 640x480, 1024x768. The text cuts off at the exact same place.

p.s. Don't mind the screenshot resolution - I had to compress it a bit as it was too large for uploading here :)

upd#2: Hurrah! I've managed to localize the issue: see, I have russian language set in game settings. So I've changed it back to english and the issue resolved. My guess is that the language setting also changes font size or smth like that. I dunno, but maybe there are issues in other languages as well. I'd be glad if you guys fixed it as I really love your project :)

upd#3 I haven't played a lot yet, but the issue persists. I've met it at least once more in that training mission. The first picture is the fixed variant of the screenshot I attached before. The second one - is new place with the issue but in the very same book (both taken with english language setting).

I just checked at a range of screen resolutions and aspect ratios - it is the same on all of them

Note that my screen is a standard 16:10 ratio

I also tried the same thing with windows selected as opposed to full screen and it is the same

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
