FM list questions

Hey guys :D

I haven't posted in a while, but with the release of TDM 2.0 I'd finally like to start recording walkthroughs and writing reviews for the now standalone game. Having recently played through the entire training, I can honestly say that this is what I'll be spending most of time with for the foreseeable future, I think it's fantastic! This will also give me a chance to contribute and thank the developers for all their hard work.

Before I begin however, I do have some quick questions regarding the fan mission list on the following page, as I normally play through these in chronological order: http://www.thedarkmod.com/missions/ Essentially, is this the list to follow in order for me not to miss any missions? And, are all the missions on that list already playable with The Dark Mod 2.0, even the oldest?

With that said, I'll be posting links to whatever I record/write in Springheel's general review thread, unless you suggest starting my own dedicated thread instead. I'm currently having a blast reviewing user generated game content for other favorite PC titles, and I'm really excited to finally add TDM to that list. If you want to see an example of what I do, check out my recently compiled channel trailer below for my walkthroughs, or visit my site (themasterfoundry.com) for everything written.

Thanks guys!

All missions on that list run under 2.0. However, my Old Habits Rebuild is not listed (as always) :(

FM's: Builder Roads, Old Habits, Old Habits Rebuild

Mapping and Scripting: Apples and Peaches

Sculptris Models and Tutorials: Obsttortes Models

My wiki articles: Obstipedia

Texture Blending in DR: DR ASE Blend Exporter

Yeah, that trailer is awesome. Man, we could use a TDM promo trailer of that calibre with some kickass guitar driven music in the background.

This list is chronological BTW:

though some entries are not yet TDM 2.0 compatible.

Thank you guys, it means a lot. I used to make game trailers for fun actually. Only stopped because they took so much time, but I hope to get into it again at some point. You can view all my trailers on my old channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/SensesRefinedMedia If you like those and think something of the sort would be good for The Dark Mod, I'll gladly compile one for it in the coming months, so long as there's no rush. Just let me know.

As an example, I made one for the We Want Homeworld 3 facebook group a while back. Couldn't believe how popular it got (all things considered).

I can make a trailer with a mixture of Death Metal and Hard Tech as background :D

The mission list on thedarkmod.com lists the dates also. So does most of the FM threads, but if you are unsure you can always ask the mission authors I guess.

Obs. I'm gonna create an Old Habits Rebuild entry, I presume this is the latest build?

Yup, I think we could definitely use a polished trailer like that. We haven't had one since a former member named Tyrot did one back in 2004.

Well, the recent TDM 2.0 trailer I quite liked overall, though it's certainly a little different than what I have in mind. In any case, it would be my pleasure to create a trailer for this game :) Would it be possible to use the music from the mod itself in order to avoid any copyright issues? And if yes, where could I find the tracks to give them a listen?

For the game tracks, inside the darkmod folder there are "tdm_sound_ambient0n.pk4" files. They are actually .zip files you can open with any unzip program, and inside you'll find the ambients in ogg or wav format. Especially I think tdm_sound_ambient02.pk4/sound/ambient/ambience has the musical tracks.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Also here ;), though there are newer ones in the game files mentioned: http://www.moddb.com...oundtrack-vol-1

Awesome, thank you guys! As I record my walkthroughs, I'll collect samples and eventually come out with a trailer that I truly hope you'll enjoy.

my map "Lord Dufford's" is not available on the internal downloader built into the exe program to load and run maps. So you would have to get it from that page in the link, as its the most up to date version of it anyway.

Is Lord Dufford's updated to run with 2.0?

Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!

I've updated the articles for your FMs and your author category at the wiki. Your newer nickname (DeTeEff) now comes first, and the one in parentheses is your older nickname (Fieldmedic). Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.

I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.
