Damn thats a good deal!

However I already own both games!

But with The Witcher 2 I was getting a fair bit of lag even though my system is rather decent. 8GB Corsair Vegenance ram, 120GB SSD, FX-6300 and a XFX 7870.

I noticed I was still getting lag but either way great games!

Never played those, but I've had them on my radar for a while. The price is definitely right.

Gotta stop buying games for a year two now. I got so much on my plate and free time is so scarce, I wonder when I get to complete these new two games..

Worked perfectly for me on a 560 Ti supported by an i5-2500k and 16 gb Corsair XMS2.

I think the Witcher games benefit greatly from being based on a series of books. Eventhough the games differ from the books in some of the details, there's more depth to the characters and the world than what is typical in games. There's a sense that much more has happened to the characters than what is taking place in the games, that the characters bring their own personal histories to the world the games take place in. I think that's what makes them seem more authentic than a lot of games.

  • 4 months later...

My brother recently asked me what cool games will be released in the next months and so I mentioned W3. Then I remembered that he didn't even play the first two parts, so I started talking up W1 to him. In the end, I got myself so excited again about W1, that I started replaying it! :-D Of course I explored what can be done as far as graphics are concerned. I am now playing with a highres texture pack, a high res models mod, a realistic blood mod, forced ambient occlusion through the nvidia driver and I used the little tool SweetFX to add some further postprocessing effects. Just some subtle vignetting, vibrance and sharpening.

I have taken some quick screenies for you guys. However, as I noticed, the postfx of sweetfx are not exported, which also brings the anti aliasing. But they still look pretty nice I think.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
