Lack of anisotropic filtering.....can you ask the author (I see that you're active on that forum :D) why?

Task is not so much to see what no one has yet seen but to think what nobody has yet thought about that which everybody see. - E.S.

YES! I just played the first two again last month wondering how the third one is coming along. Gotta check out that demo ASAP!

Looks like Hitman.

It basically is, just in World War 2. The first two also felt reminiscent of the old Commandos games. The third one seems to be even more Hitman-like with the new map system and it seems the inventory system of the first two is gone :(

Also my heart stopped for a second when the tutorial introduced "Instinct", though it doesn't seem to be that much of a dealbreaker and other then those three things the rest of the game feels very true to the first two.

We haven't had a good Hitman game in eight years, so this will have to suffice.

If it's as good as the first two then it'll do more then just suffice. There actaully are quite a few things about DtS that I like more then in Hitman. The missions are usually a lot larger and open, and I like the atmosphere a tad more. The mission design itself also feels a lot more thoughtful than in Hitman. On the flipside DtS is not as polished, and it's a tad too easy to drag people around the whole map by whistling. I remember that I had to beat some missions in the first one ways that fealt like exploits to me (especially Project Y or what it was called...)

Completed the demo mission, and now I'm really excited for it. Everything from the first two seems to be there or enhanced. Instinct mode is actually really not that bad, it basically conveys the same info as the old map overlay and the new map makes you actually able to plan ahead a bit more.

It looks pretty great...

but one shouldn't look at "let's play" video... cause you notice lots of weird illogical stuff...

during this video I had these random thoughts:

  • nice he's super stealth, he changes is cloth right behind a guy's back without him noticing...
  • why is there all kind of boxes sitting outdoor waiting for some rain...
  • why the hell is there a lock to pick on a window?!?

but that games seems pretty great...

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
