Player Piano In D3

Brilliant stuff. I'm all for sticking as many instruments in the game as possible. If the guards have whistles to alert others to your presence, Revenants could have some kind of Army of Darkness style Dans Macabre flute made of bone, while the pagan forest imps would play harps and mandolins... This piano should go in the first mansion level of the campaign in my opinion.

That's a cool idea. Guards can run to the next piano and play a coded tune that tells others where the thief is. :)

Seriously. I always liked it in T2 when you could even use the instruments. :)

I think in T2, the harp made a discordinant noise 50% of the time and played up some scale 50% of the time.

Maybe if you play an instrument really well, the AI that come bursting into the room will recognize true talent, and decide to just beat you senseless instead of kill you.

How about in the campaign, our Thief actually is a musician as well? Like plays the violin or something, like a wrong-side-of-the-law Sherlock Holmes ?

Also I've suggested it once already: how about all the cutscenes are in Wagnerian music-drama style? REAL DRAMATIC LIKE.

Know what's fun? Tax evasion.

In other news,

I've written a few musical numbers in there. It depends what NH and his voice team are up for.

can we get several guards doing an interpretive dance of "Who Stole The Cookie From The Cookie Jar?"

Personally I'd blame the Thief...

At the moment I've just got a leper siging about the loss of his various body parts.

Is it all melancholy? What if he never liked his arms? I mean, what with the constant *dangling* and all... Maybe he could bust out into something along the lines of "Singing In The Rain" on account of no longer having to deal with them pesky, unruly extremities, eh?

'Cause otherwise he'd pretty much just be like one of 'em fellows I pass on the subway... and those are just more smelly than scary.

Interesting Trivia: I was chased down a street by a bunch of teenage lepers in Lusaka. Luckily I had two legs and so could outrun them.

1) Lusaka... is that in Detroit?

2) You may have been lucky that time since they had no legs to catch you with, but what if they had jetpacks? Hmm? What would you have done then?

Legless lepers don't scare me, but put a jetpack on one and watch out... 'cause then you've just got problems is what you've got... flying, legless problems...

It's in Zambia. Mooother Afrrricah!!

I'm quite fond on the leper I've created. He's a posh fellow, the Marquis of Fountensooth. He was imprisoned by the Builders for stealing a monacle, poor thing. He didn't need his glasses anymore after his left eye fell out.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
