I finished the game and it took me 32 hours for the main game, side quests and good amount of exploration (if I was to take a guess I would say there was probably another 5~ hours of content I missed, but I really took my time with everything). I got another 90 minutes out of the pre-order bonus mission they offered however it's quite a jaring experience and feels like it was taken out of the game to be sold as dlc (more so than missing link did).

Overall the game is quite fun, I played through the whole game as a ghost and didn't kill a single person, only taking those that the mission required. They really reward stealth players in their level design and exploration in this and I'm hoping it's a similar experience with Dishonored 2.

My favorite part of DX:MD was the city hub for sure, specifically infiltrating the palisade bank was awesome. The city felt quite huge and lively, they also really delivered on the feeling of being a suppressed and judged Aug in a city that is quite supposed without feeling too uncanny. I was quite surprised at how big the missions were too, the choices you make in the game really do have an impact in the world.

As for cons, I ran into game breaking bugs 4 or 5 times which stand out even more when you're heavily immersed in a world and I thought the ending was really weak and I was hoping for more diversity in the cities we visited, for some reason i felt HR had us traveling to more places than MD did but with that said the experience along the way really outweighed those negative points so I walked away wanting more and really enjoyed the game. It's definitely worth the $60 price tag.

I am up to 30 hours and just arrived in London - playing pacifist and taking the bank option - and it is definitely worth the money (£30 in my case)

The only part I found boring up to now is Prague under lockdown which was very repetitive

The load time between sectors was also horribly slow - whether having the game on an SSD would help I don't know

I have a very large number of Praxis Kits which I don't know what to do with

A final gripe - using quick takedown drops my peak energy level until a biocell is used which rather defeats the idea of it

Well, if not you're always @top.

It's acceptable from a gameplay view.

Yes, it's an unnerving trend.

But it's the microtransactions for the single-player that are causing the biggest stink. You can buy credits and Praxis Kits for the campaign, for example £3.59 for 5000 credits.

Luckly they are totally UNnecessary, still a bad sign of bad times.

I've actually didn't noticed the microtransactions. Either I am too dumb or I've just overlooked them :D

Regarding loading times: They differed quite a bit on my pc. But normally the were below 10-15 seconds. I have the game on ssd, though.

I wish I had read about the alternate endings before getting to the final sequence so I could have made a save game at the right point

Looking at the options - New Game Plus is a dead loss as it will be far too easy and the new hardest version seems totally silly as getting killed takes you back to the start of the game

Playing through again on hard (not the go back to the start if you die one) and getting all the side quests one thing really annoys me - and you would think a professional games designer would have sorted it

Even large objects which are too heavy unless you have the stronger arms aug act as though they have no mass or inertia - tried to stack two large crates without knocking the lower one over and even the slightest error can knock over multiple crates. This was stacking crates to get to the ice drill hole in G.A.R.M

Just to put things in context. The dude has strong opinions.

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

Finished again and this time achieved Foxiest of the Hounds which is a right pig to get because of glitches in the game specially in Golem and London

A prime example in London I immobilised all the guards and got to Miller then the alarm went. A reload of the game from a few minutes before and it didn't happen

Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!

I've updated the articles for your FMs and your author category at the wiki. Your newer nickname (DeTeEff) now comes first, and the one in parentheses is your older nickname (Fieldmedic). Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.

I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.
