I'm running AMD A10 -5800K with a Radeon HD 4800 (6 years old) so I feel like my rig is pretty low end.

I'm probably average or a bit above on skills, since I've played a lot of the maps currently available.

Most importantly I would be delighted to help with beta testing the first installment of the campaign! :)

So this is finally coming out. Good to hear.

Sadly I don't think I am a good enough Dark Mod player to test this well, else I would have volunteered. Good luck anyway!

If you are not good enough, you may just be the right kind of player to test the mission!

We really do need testers who aren't expert experts at playing. So step right up!

I would consider myself as an average player and be pleased if i can help with testing.

I'm running tdm on my laptop with Ubuntu 14.04. (32 bit)
- Intel Pentium CPU P6200 @ 2.13GHz × 2
- 1,8 GiB RAM
- Intel Ironlake Mobile x86/MMX/SSE2

I think that pc is the lowest end you can tdm probably run on - it might be even to low to do good testing. I should also say i haven't done any beta-testing so far. But if that's no problem and if you're in need of testers you can count me in.

I think what Melan and Biker are getting at is that this mission is quite difficult, and designed for experienced TDM players.

If we can get some average players to give feedback to make it more comfortable for their skill level, then the mission can be tweaked so that the "easy" skill level is enjoyable but still challenging for beginning TDM players.

This can be done while keeping the expert skill difficult and designed for the hardcore long time players who really want a beating from the game.

I'm interested to hear what kind of framerate you get. I expect Crucible campaign to be RAM hungry and have a lot of AIs too.

In indoor areas i usually get around 20-25 fps, but when i go outside or AIs are around it goes down on 10 fps

Kinda sucks but tdm is such a great game that i still can enjoy it - playing even at such a low framerate.

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
