Any news about the upcoming "hotfix" ? So I'll finally play the Volta series during Christmas time :D

@stgatilov Im not sure what happened but I did upload the old .map file by mistake. I dmapped in 2.08 and uploaded to the mirrors. Thanks for noticing this!

@lowenz Should be all good now! Im verifying the mirror are working, so just to be safe delete your old volta 1 folder and re download here

Great mission! It took me almost 3 hours to finish. Wandered around trying to find all the loot etc, but was still 400 shy and found only 1 secret. All the small details worked very well and the story was easy to follow.

What I especially liked compared to other missions was that the layout was realistic and with my very poor orienteering skills I never got lost and could actually plan my navigation around the map.

Regarding the end part of map.

As some already mentioned, I was also a bit disappointed that in the very end there was no big fight against some monster, but one could just walk out of the tower.

One loot that can't be picked up:

The bag in the mailbox. I was even able to get it out of the maibox with some item on my hand, but still when it was on the floor couldn't pick it up.

I already started the next Volta and I'm hoping it proves to be on the same level!

I have been bothered by the overly clear water effect in many TDM missions including this one.

I have attached two modified material files:

tdm_water.mtr

tdm_sfx.mtr

A water with a blend filter stage and the particle vfx material set to "sort last" so that lamp glares will render over the top of it.

Add these to a materials sub-folder in your volta fm folder to try them out. :)

Just played through again, still an excellent mission & compares extremely well with later missions 👍

Still haven't found out what the "Secret Key" opens though

The secret key was stolen from the engineer who makes the rounds checking the three hidden switches. The key is a bypass that lets you open the two portcullises guarding the switches to the main portcullis that opens the tower. So if you want to rush the main objective, enter the mansion through the spa room windows (rope arrow required) and find the pagan's hiding spot, and then head to one of the control rooms in the center-north, use the key, pop the tower open and Bob's your uncle.

I'm re-playing this mission, and have trouble finding the

family ring in the bath house again (already couldn't find it the first time I played the mission). Any pointers?

Well, that's really hard to see, and the guy in the video had his issues finding it as well.

Yeah thats terribly hard to see :( I wanted it to be hidden but that's just too well hidden.

Does this mission sound really bad inside the state/mansion or is it me? The music, the effects, the voices... everything sounds artificial or extreme. I don't recall this sensation when I first played it two or three years ago. TDM 2.12.

Went through the mission in one go. Seems very good to me. Some people mentioned they wanted a final boss. I'd go with a chase in the end, more enemies on the way out, that sort of thing. Or even the big reveal - the drugged or drunk Volta with a bow trying to shoot you for stealing the stone. But nevertheless, great mission reminiscent with Thief 1 and, for some reason, the first Dishonored installment.

We already got chase sequences and bosses in Thief 2014, turned out nobody liked that :)

Amazing mission! Truly a masterpiece. 5/5 everything!

I got out with the stone and alive with stealth score of 45, KOd two (poor servant lady onto whom I bumped into around a corner and some scribe who was just sitting and writing), I received 120 damage (fell a couple of times and got hit by swordmen while fleeing a couple of times). The insurance company would never insure my thieving exercises...

Good thing I had some apples and found a few health potions. I saved twice because there was

quite a long fall when climbing the tower and that would have been instakill for me should I have failed the jumping exercise.

This mission is TDM at its best! I didn't even visit all the rooms, because I was so interested seeing what's in the tower. I need to play this again and visit all rooms...

There's a weird (small) bug with this mission:

When you start tdm, wait a couple of seconds and then start this mission, no sound is heard in the briefing video. If you would start the mission directly after starting tdm the sound does play and also on a restart of the mission.

Maybe this might be because of old data in mainmenu_custom_defs.gui
