Is it still possible to choose other OpenAL drivers by using the lib name? (soft_oal.dll, etc. avoiding the bugged Creative one - ct_oal.dll - on old cards :P )

So I was looking at the roadmap: http://bugs.thedarkmod.com/roadmap_page.php

I know you say there's no release date in mind, but why does 2.06 (and 2.07) both have release dates? Is this a requirement of the bug tracking software? The release dates have been missed quite a bit but I doubt anyone cares too much.

Bugtracker inserts meaningless release dates. Ignore them .

I'll do it. I'm actually not a new member, but a former one with a new identity. (wasn't banned, just wanted a new name)

Anyway, I run Debian Linux Buster with a Ryzen 7 1700 and a GTX750Ti. Memory is 16GB.

Hopefully no one will discover my secret identity!

Holy cow! For real? This might single-handedly increase adoption of darkmod for many Thief mappers given the softer look darkengine still has over it.

Could you please share screenshots?

SoftShadows + Light PostProcess + FBOresolution=2 -> TDM rocks

The real performance-killer hogg is the FBO resolution (=internal framebuffer downscaling from 3840×2160) in shader-heavy/shadow-heavy (->dynamic lights) parts.

Otherwise every medium modern system (i3-6xxx/i3-7xxx + GeForce 1050 /1050 Ti) can handle TDM 2.06 well @that quality.

Pretty cool stuff. Any info about if/how much the minimum system requirements for the project will increase?

I am into poking at it as a beta-tester, if more fingers in the cookie jar are wanted.

minimum system requirements should be OpenGL 2.1, but the new GLSL was not tested on anything older that 3.1 yet

I'm using the Intel GPU and it's still playable FPS (for me) on the "Very High" soft shadow setting, granted on an i7-6K.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
