So I was playing William Steele 3 by grayman and this happened.

Yup, and there's always a situation that AI get themselves in that is not handled and "strange behaviour" is seen.

Just giving it a quick think over though, it's amazing just how well our AI handle situations though.

A lot of AAA games use hacks for situations where you've coded behaviour. I've seen AAA games in which 2 AI try to go through a door and get stuck, they'll both become ethereal so they can both go through the door at the same time.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

You'll see it in narrow hallways.

 

For the longest time, I'd thought about implementing a "narrow spaces handler" that would work like the door queue, but would be used on narrow spaces.

 

But the door code is so complex I never got up the initiative to port it all over to the narrow spaces situation.

      I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
