I like the mission a lot so far, but I'm a little stuck on something and could use some help:

 

 

I can't seem to be able to pick up Symon's room key. I can see in some walkthroughs on Youtube that it should be in the bathroom in the toilet on the right. I've tried clicking everywhere around it, but can't seem to pick it up or see it. Any tips?

That explains it. I was wondering if that was the case. I'll go look again more carefully. Thanks

In Symons's room (upstairs with near all of the bookshelves), there's a switch hidden.

 

Specifically,

 

somewhere on the desk (depends on the difficulty level). It's hard to see, use the candle to help spot it.

Room 6 is unlocked. It's got double doors, and it's right across from room 7.

 

 

You have to read the book in room 3 to complete one of the objectives. It's wedged between some of the crates. There are several crates with flasks in them; the book is just to the right of one of them. Let me know if you can't find it and I'll send a picture.

The book has a clue for the safe number, but here's the answer...

 

 

The safe combo is 724

How do I get in to Symon's room?

There's a key. The location of the key depends on the Difficulty. On Easy it's upstairs in the break room on a bench. On the harder levels, it's in the privy, in the toilet on the right. You have to stand on the bucket and crouch down to see/grab it.

Hmm. Don't know about your room 6, but my room 6 is unlocked ;). Could be a bug, I suppose?

 

Could you possibly be thinking of Room 4?

Room 4 is locked and there is no key, and it can't be picked. There is another way in, via the bathroom/privy. Move some boxes.

This is very strange. The room shouldnt be locked and there shouldnt be voices coming from inside. Would it be possible for you to record some gameplay to show me this behavior? Or at least some screen grabs? Thanks.

Found the book. Now, the button in the basement opens something, but where is the secret room I just opened? I can't find it in the basement...

 

If you're facing the button on the pillar, turn around and look up. There should be a trap door in the ceiling that opened. If you don't see it, hit the button again just to make sure the door is open. (You'll need something to stand on to climb up)

How do you spoil in here anyway?

 

Select the text, and use the Special BBCode button. Specify the "Spoiler" BBcode. That wraps the text in spoiler tags.

 

Or you can do it manually, by adding [ spoiler] at the start of the text, and [ /spoiler] at the end (except, don't add the space after the open bracket; I did that so that you could see it in the message).

Nice little mission.

 

 

I was having trouble with the secret door in the basement - couldn't for some reason climb up by using the box - so I piled up the bodies of my vanquished enemies and used them to climb up into the secret room. It is too seldom that one gets to do that.

In some areas I have bad performance. For example in the beginning when I turn right and do some steps into the street the FPS drops under 15.

 

Is it my system? Or some strange behavior in the config file?

Very good FM. I needed a little help from this thread as I got stuck on a few things, but overall one I liked it for a small / medium sized mission. The story was pretty good too... reminded me a little about the plot of the first DeusEx game.

Interesting - DX is one of my all-time faves, but I didn't consciously make that connection. It was actually inspired by real life - note that one of the notes is signed "Martin" (as in Martin Shkreli)

In some areas I have bad performance. For example in the beginning when I turn right and do some steps into the street the FPS drops under 15.

Are you still having performance issues with this FM? How's your performance with other FMs? Unfortunately, I'm not much of an expert when it comes to performance.

Finally had the chance to play this one last night! Really nice little mission! I like how gloomy and pessimistic the stories and characters are. Especially the PharmaBr0 douchebag reference ^^

 

 

 

The one thing I would say is that putting the main objective hinging on finding a series of small, well hidden items and switches is a bit brave. My daughter was playing for part of the time and she quit in frustration (granted her attention span isn't exactly legendary). I finished the last part (with the basement ceiling) and found it slightly exhausting searching for the switch. I also kind of made this mistake on my first mission, with the frobable wall lamp in the staircase some people had problems with. It's easy to think that the player will find it without problems since it seems obvious to the creator. In general I think it's better to err on the side of being slightly too easy than slightly too hard.

 

 

 

All in all a great first mission and looking forward to seeing more!

      I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
