I have been playing this lately and I thought the lot of you would appreciate it as well.

Made by the same guy who made Papers, please. It's a mystery solving kind of game that actually feels like you are solving something. I have always been frustrated by how tough it is to gamefy mystery solving. I won't go into details because this is one of those games better experienced knowing little to nothing about it. But I highly recommend it! I'm still playing by the way, so no spoilers for me if you already finished it, please.

The developer of Papers, Please did not care to make his game work on my laptop with old videocards. How is that even possible with those graphics?

Not like he has to but, I had a reasonable expectation it would work.

Edited by Anderson

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

Is there anything he could do to workaround the limitations of the framework he used? He made Papers, Please on Haxe/NME.

I would probably have no clue how to work around that. I'd know Haxe enough to make games in it, and that'd be it. :)

I don't know the extent of his knowledge, though.

In other words, you must use a modern, spy-backdoored CPU in order to play Papers, Please.

One would think a two color renderer would be cheaper but it's definitely an aesthetic choice. It's probably done with post processing shaders so it's actually more computationally expensive than traditional rendering.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
