Really don't like it, as I prefer dark themes, as white tends to hurt my eyes. Any chance of

an option to choose a dark theme?

Taaaki is currently looking into fixing the appearance if possible.

I actually like the light theme. I hope when it is changed, there will be an option to choose between the light and the dark themes.

The forum theme change wasn't intentional. It's an unfortunate byproduct of a forum software update (see here: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/20010-it39s-alive33/&do=findComment&comment=438046). I'll have a look at installing a generic dark theme as an option while I work on importing and updating the old TDM theme to be compatible with the new forum version.

While Taaaki has mentioned he is looking into a dark theme. In the meantime I would recommend a chrome addon that Epifire turned me onto called "Darkreader". It turns light pages darker, so currently my forums look like this:

I've installed a dark / night theme. Just select it from the Theme list selector at the bottom of the page. Hopefully that acts as a reasonable stop-gap.

I don't mind the light theme but it's too spaced out to my taste. I'd like a more condensed view.

Thank you Taaki. I use Opera Goldwell, with Dark Theme, but it's not working well after the last update.

I love that darkloader Chrome extension. I'll not read my daily news the same way ever again!

And the dark/light switch for the forum works great too. This new forum seems super fast and has more options tho I can't really be specific about what I mean. I just "feel" it or something...

Darkloader? I think you mean the dark reader extension. Yep, I like that, too. Very useful on my OLED tablet.

I can't find any option to adjust forum likes.  I did turn status updates on, but I'm not sure where they appear now.  Still figuring out this new system.

Where?  I only see options to view posts.

It seems like you can click the Unread Content link on the right and choose Status Updates from Content Type picklist. But it's not as straightforward as it was before the upgrade.

Oh, okay, status updates just show up in the activity feed like regular posts, except that you can reply to them right from there.  Yeah, I prefer the old method, but I have no idea how to set things up that way.

The new dark theme is nice, but the text for where you are on the forum is a bit too dark. The one on the top that tells you what part of the forum you're browsing.
