Shadows: Awakening 100% off on GOG

Have you been able to play this yourself? I also got the gift and was a little excited when I saw the trailer. However the reviews seem to be pretty mixed and I don't want to take 20 hours to get into the game and then realize that it's not really worth it. 😔

I'm on vacation, and the PC I'm currently using has 8.25 GB of free space. The game is 8.2 GB.

But even if that wasn't the case, I'd probably let it rot in inventory forever like most freebies. It is an iso ARPG though, which I have more interest in.

I'm playing it, it's a very nice game and easy to handle, almost anything only the mouse needed. But it's not this which make it somewhat frustrating,  but some puzzles which it contains. I got currently stucked in the lower catacombs with the rolling rock puzzle since hours, not so easy as shown in the walkthrough. It's not because the orden of the switch, but because of the right timing.  If you fail a +-half second to switch the lever, the boulder fall in the channel and you must try it again from the beginning.

Pioneer is a space adventure game set in our galaxy at the turn of the 33rd century.

The game is open-ended, and you are free to eke out whatever kind of space-faring existence you can think of. Explore and trade between millions of star systems. Turn to a life of crime as a pirate, smuggler or bounty hunter. Travel through vast territories of various factions, experience beautiful scenery, be the first to witness foreign stars being eclipsed by alien worlds. The universe is whatever you make of it.

Pioneer is under constant development and has a friendly community of players, modders and developers around it. We’d love for you to try it and make part of the galaxy your own!

Anyone tried 0 A D RTS?

https://play0ad.com/

I've followed the development on and off for a long time, and tried it a long time ago. It's got the look of Age of Mythology (if not better) which is good enough for an RTS, but focusing on time period of Age of Empires I. AOE II is my most played of the games. That one aged so well it's getting official expansions nearly 25 years after release.

You know, I think 0 A.D. benefits from appearing at the top of software repos organized alphabetically. 🤪

Yesterday I installed the First Templar, playing for a while, but the handling was horrible and the fluidity of the movements was not to speak of, stumbling between 60 to < 10 FPS at any moment and not because of high demands, I tried it even with the lowest settings without result, adding a continually changing zoom little stable. Probably (it's a 2011 game) it's the cause of compatibility issues with Windows 10. Uninstalled.

It's not bad, but, Dead Space is by far the better game. Actually, one of the best games I played in the last 10 years. I mean the original, not the crappy remake.

Exactly. The game is good, but not great. Could been a great 3 Player Coop with the 3 Characters already in the game. One mele, one guns and the other stealth. or have 3 different starts for each of the characters or/and unlock them after finishing the game. Something among those lines could have been better than what it is now.

I don't like that they changed Isaac's face. There's no law that says a character has to look like their VA, and I thought Isaac's original face suited the character better.

100% the old dead space here 2 :) the new one while not bad at all (way better control) just feels a bit out of place.

Id much rather play the scrapped dead space 4 if it ever comes out so we can get a non cliff hanger.

Fallout Classic Collection is Free on Epic.

I played Fallout 2 back then and it was a great game. I vastly prefer the oldschool c-rpg Fallouts. Sadly, due to 16 bit color depth and low resolution, these games did not age too well. Here's to wishing for a Remaster.

I'd like to track my level design progress a bit more often now, so I'm using the feed in my profile here.
I've been working intensively on Springheel's YouTube course over the past few days. I'm currently up to lesson 8. There is so much information that needs to be processed and practiced.
I have started to create my own house. As I don't have the imagination to create a good floor plan, I grabbed a floor plan generator from Watabou and experimented with it. I chose a floor plan that I will modify slightly, but at least I now have an initial idea.
I used two guards as a measuring tape: The rooms are two guards high. It turned out that I can simply double the number of boxes in DarkRadiant in grid size 8 that are drawn in the floor plan.
I practiced the simplest things on the floor plan first. Drawing walls, cutting walls, inserting doors, cutting out frames, creating VisPortals, furnishing rooms.
I have had my first success in creating a book. Creating a book was easier than I thought. I have a few ideas with books. The level I'm creating will be more or less a chill level, just for me, where I'll try out a few things. I don't have an idea for my own mission yet. I want to start small first.
For the cellar, I wanted to have a second entrance, which should be on the outside. I'm fascinated by these basement doors from the USA, I think they're called Bilco basement doors. They are very unusual in Germany, but this type of access is sometimes used for deliveries to restaurants etc., where barrels can be rolled or lifted into the cellar.
I used two Hatch Doors, but they got completely disoriented after turning. I have since got them reasonably tamed. It's not perfect, but it's acceptable.
In the cellar today I experimented with a trap door that leads to a shaft system. The rooms aren't practically finished yet, but I want to continue working on the floor plan for now. I'll be starting on the upper floor very soon.

On a lighter note, thanks to my cat-like reflexes, my superior puzzle skills and my perfect memory, I was able to beat the remastered version of "Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation" in a new superhuman record time of 23 h : 35 m, worship me!
