I was going to say that when it became available. That's definitely a bigger title than usual and I hear people hate Civ 7 anyway.

Civ 1 is still my favorite of them all. My first PC game. Nostalgia I guess, but being able to customize your palace, seeing people celebrating you as king or protesting furiously did something for me. I also liked how office members stood behind the Leader, much like we see in conferences today.  After that, Leaders looked like parodies to me.

Heh civ 1 was literally the first 3d game i played back in the commodore days 😂. My taste was a bit different at that time so mostly some world builders and fantasy games. Later i threw in with doom hexen and quake and system shock then half-life and for some years the online offshots like quake 3 and counterstrike. Today im mostly into those with a good story to tell 😄. I also played lots of diablo and wow and got quite a legend in one of the bigger wow guilds as a shaman. My char was named beefcan if any of you played that some 10 years back we probably meet.

Game is pretty easy to mod  Game,Base, Assets, Gameplay, Data. open any file with Notepad and you can customize anything you want. I already made changes to player move, sight, range, tech etc. Much more enjoyable now.

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."

Diffusion

Diffusion is the first-person  shooter with an extensive singleplayer story (8-12 hours) and a multiplayer deathmatch mode, running on Xash3D-FWGS engine.

You, James Smith (served in SWAT for a decade with no failed ops), on vacation and driving your car to some nice place, to take a break from your usual work routines. Driving on a deserted road somewhere in Utah, the car breaks down. With miles of nothing behind, J. decides to go forward and stumbles upon an abandoned rock/sand processing factory with just one yawning guard sitting there. Pointed by the guard, J. walks behind the factory to find the phone. When he comes back, he only sees two army trucks and the dead guard… J.'s curiosity leads him inside the factory only to find that this place is absolutely not what it seems to be…

I think daily Epic giveaways are expected from around Dec 18 to Dec 31. Here's a leaked list of possible games:

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Epic-Games-Store-leak-reveals-nearly-300-worth-of-free-game-giveaway-plans-in-December-2025.1184163.0.html

Hogwarts Legacy December 11 $59.99 $59.99
Jurassic World: Evolution 2 December 18 $59.99 $14.99
Desperados 3 December 19 $39.99 $9.99
Total War: Warhammer December 20 $59.99 $14.99
Tropico 5 December 21 $19.99 $7.99
Chicken Police - Paint it Red! December 22 $19.99 $19.99
Loop Hero December 23 $14.99 $2.99
Lego Batman December 24 $19.99 $2.99
Commander Keen December 25 $3.99 $0.79
Farming Simulator 2022 December 26 $29.99 $29.99
Slime Rancher 2 December 27 $29.99 $17.99
Terraria December 28 $9.99 $9.99
Detroit: Become Human December 29 $39.99 $39.99
Mortal Kombat 11 December 30 $49.99 $49.99
Red Dead Redemption 2 December 31 $59.99 $14.99

I never could have expected a Keen Dreams (aka Keen 3.5) Definitive Edition when I played that decades ago. The reviews are negative and the link goes to Steam... because it's not on Epic. So take this with a grain of salt. A reviewer says to check out this version instead: https://keenwiki.shikadi.net/wiki/Keen_Dreams_Gold_Edition

Free indie game on Steam through December 15th. I like this developers' games and I previously played some of his other titles. He usually makes David Lynch-type mild horrors. Thus I recommend inserting this title in your collection as well.

Every time people posted such lists with this game in them they were entirely fake. So it's either made with trolling in mind or just someone's deluded wishful thinking.

I don't think so, there are free games, which are always free and Giveaways, which are for download for free only for a certain hours or days, often also only in certain countries.

In Steam you'll find tons of free games, also some in GOG, almost always in Itch.io, there apart without the need of an account or desktop client crap (my prefered site to search for), some in Indiegala and DigiPen Game Gallery and Digipen Showcase,

They're actually true most of the time. IMO, it's rather fake marketing. Companies "leaking" information to some self-centered influencers. Win-win, for the companies and the influencers, and, people seem to like that kind of shady marketing as well.

Epic Games spent hundreds of millions on games they can offer for free in the past, because they wanted to launch a big attack on Steam, and acquire some similar market share. Which they will never achieve, of course, but, I'll take the freebies anyway. ;)

I feel like people don't see what I said, lol. This is not the first time I see a list like this with Red Dead Redemption 2 included, on reddit it was done several times during such events and every time there was no RDR2 as a giveaway including the rest of the games.

"Super Slope Jump" seems like a fitting name for this:

I also found an unintentional setup for it in my WIP:

Definitely too hard for Advanced Jump Training's main path, but it could make for a fun secret perhaps...

Well, this is just sad...I was not able to play any Thief or TDM whatsoever, why? Too busy the past 2 months, this month I'm not as busy BUT it's also very heaty in my place.
I can't play Thief when it's not at least 15c or lower, the game demands to be played when it's cold for...Well, may sound stupid but I'll just say it, for that "immersion".
It's kinda like playing Quake during Summer, which unless it's the Summer Jam mod, I don't think it's as fun.
