Im a huge fan of Thief and Doom, i did one of my game level assignments after the bathroom in doom3 when i was in college. Only had 2 and a half weeks to model and texture the room but its the best i could do in the alotted timeframe. Seeing as how there much more time and my skills have gotten better since then, id like to help out in any way possible. Lemme know what ya think. :D

Thanks guys, im not sure how to post a video file, nor do i have a place to host it. Anyone give me directions on doin so? :)

Anyway, other than that lil problem, ill tell ya a bit about myself. I went to Full Sail in Winter Park, FL for computer animation. Im pushing my skills as a texture and environment artist, but i love all aspects of animation, modeling, and dynamics.

Im proficient in Maya 4, 5, and 6; Right-Hemisphere's DeepExploration, Photoshop CS, and Apple Shake.

I can work well with NURBS, Polygons and Sub-Ds.

Rigging and Animation - I can work with and create SDKs, jiggle deformers, and mel scripting to name a few.

Texturing - I can make and use layered shaders, UV, Bump, Spec, Displacement mapping amongst many others.

Im a huge gamer and would love to work in the game industry. I dont have any real experience other than classwork and personal work but I would love to step up to a challange and help this team raise the bar for games and the gaming industry all-around. Let me know if I can fill needed spots. I can adapt to just about anything and if i dont know ill try my best to learn it asap. Thanks

Hmh, yeah, that animation wasn't as good as we'd need though, you'd have to try harder than that and learn to be better. The animaton was too robotic , it looked like every line in the graph was linear, also most body parts were moving on exactly the same keyframes, you need to use layers to stop things syncronising.

This'll give you a good opportunity to improve though.

Well, animating AI is only one of the things we need animators for. We also need weapon animations, and animated objects like doorhandles, chests, etc.

As well, I notice that you've done some modelling...do you know how to make uv maps and do skinning? That's another area we could use some more people.

Yeah, id be able to do that. Ill need to purchase a tablet though if the need for more indepth texture creation is needed for characters and such. I used one at school and never had the money to buy one. Ill pick one up soon though.

Just to clarify, Oddity were you ruling out animation as a possibility at all, or were you just saying Philthy's current animations were not up to par, but they could get there with some more learning and practice?

Just want to be sure no one's misinterpreting eachother, since we really do need more animators.

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
