Hey guys, I have this page on Facebook that I've been feeding with 360 screenshot from games I love, or games that look good.
I really want to show off and promote as many awesome indie video games by shooting scenes in their 3D worlds

Can anyone here recommend me some great maps that I can cover for my page? I usually shoot some 10-20 360s and then publish them sporadically mixed in with other games.

Here's the page so you can see how it works out in practice

thank you!

There is no shortage of great looking missions. These are some that I know of that have cool outdoor vistas.

Please visit TDM's IndieDB site and help promote the mod:

(Yeah, shameless promotion... but traffic is traffic folks...)

I agree with above.

But for these pictures you need some precise directions to get to nice locations. i can faguely remember that TDM has a feature to start a mission on/transport to a specified location. dont know the command for it.

How do you created those pictures, in a videogame? I always wanted to know that. For example, In real life I shoot them with the 360 feature of google camera on my android phone.

That's setviewpos / getviewpos. Can't live without them anymore 😁
But I'm afraid @Damjan Cd will have to play though these missions himself...

the commands getviewpos (and condump) and setviewpos works perfectly, for Damjan.
So people can now give Damjan their favourite places.

For example, one of them is just the start of the trainingsmap,
position "333.11 -1872.76 220.25   4.9 88.0 0.0"
onliner: .\TheDarkModx64.exe +map training_mission.map +setviewpos 333.11 -1872.76 220.25   4.9 88.0 0.0

it would be nice to automate this by giving someone a startup onliner, like above.
But the take doesnt take the setviewpos command.

You don't have to make it so complicated.

To use the example given here, start the tutorial mission. As soon as it starts, open the console (default "cntl + alt + ~"), and paste in "setviewpos 333.11 -1872.76 220.25   4.9 88.0 0.0". Then type in "envshot <filename> <size>" with some file name like "tutorial_screenshot1" and I need to experiment with the size, but I imagine it needs to be some exponential of 2 like 512 or 1024 (it defaults at 256, which is much too small to be useful), and you'll get the images in the "env" folder in your darkmod folder. I'm going to cruise around some FMs I like and find some nice scenes I'll edit in the setviewpos coordinates for later.

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

I've updated the articles for your FMs and your author category at the wiki. Your newer nickname (DeTeEff) now comes first, and the one in parentheses is your older nickname (Fieldmedic). Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.

I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
