Free sondtracks

It's not easy to get music for free. Even more difficult, though it is somewhat strange, medieval music and similar ones that fit TDM missions (FMA only has contemporany music)
Sometimes I find in various missions a really nice soundtrack (e.g. in Requiem-Beata Viscera) and a few more in some tavern by some trobadur, but this is usually limited to short 4-5 chord loops that are only irritating.

Of course, there are several sites that have music without copyright that can be downloaded, but either only for private use or paying.
That's why I searched the network and found a site that may be interesting and that allows you to download the files for free (mp3 - paid only if you want HQ and wav file)  and with CC license, that is, they only need to add the author in the credits. You can use this music also for comercial use and therefore in TDM Misions.

Another possibility to obtain free-to-use soundtracks is to mix it yourself, which is relatively easy with this online application, works direct in your browser. It's free (registration required) and very complete with a library of 250.000 samples. All mixes are by definition the property of their creator, who can use them freely.

thanks. please post this info in the music & sfx subforum.

For new music, do it like me: download a midi file of a song you like, import it to LMMS, replace the instruments with medieval sound samples (or vst's) and export to ogg. And then in DR, combine that song with the bar ambience sounds. > instant classic playing in a full pub/inn. 😛

I've updated the articles for your FMs and your author category at the wiki. Your newer nickname (DeTeEff) now comes first, and the one in parentheses is your older nickname (Fieldmedic). Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.

I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
