I wondered why the endgame cutscenes looked like they have a low framerate.

> Because they do. I have a dev system with lame GPU (non-upgradable) that struggled to run TDM and video capture at the same time. That's a chief area of regret. Too much work to ever redo all that.

Why do you record them as video instead of just doing the cutscenes in-game? I wonder why you would do that extra step.

Wonderful mission, thank you. But I need help. I am playing on hard and as mentioned above I am missing my lockpicks.

Spoiler

Where do I have to look to find the lockpicks? Or is there a way to finish without?

Spoiler

You get them later

OK, but I am stuck after having visited

Spoiler
  • the Inn
  • through the windows:
    • the Pirate's room
    • the Engineer's room (with a chest that I cannot open)
    • the room above the Inn

It seems I need to enter the "water pump room" to proceed through the sewers, but I would need lockpicks for it, right?

What did I miss?

Did you get the ruby and give it to your mate?

This is the first thing you should focus on.

That's the problem then:

Spoiler

There is a lady-mage at the inn and no one else. Hornby is nowhere to be found.

There is a door knocker that you have to frob.

If you can't frob it see following image:

I already reported the issue.

Alright,

Spoiler

I walked along the left route and could not frob it... I knocked on the door with the blackjack instead, but that did not work, of course.

Thank you! That did help!

Hello all Great mission so far but I can not find Bleda's safe deposit box.  Is it where

Spoiler

the gold vault doors are and a combination lock is?  If so I can't figure out the combo I have read all Emily's notes and got 69 but the code is 4 digits.

Never mind I had to move the lantern out of the way to see what was going on!  Great mission can't wait for part two!!

Hello all!

Love the mission, especially with all the pipes part, but I am now blocked at two parts

Spoiler

First one : with the pipe after the flages, with the drunk guard. There is a code to enter but I don't find it, and the 69 one does not work

Second one : the door, which may leading to the invites' room and the emily's one, is closed, and I did not find the key to open it

@pbruno37 the key you are looking for is in

Spoiler

the locked area you are stuck at.

I am also stuck at the safety deposit boxes; I input the code and pull the lever, I can hear a door sound but nothing opens.

@pwl can you share details of your revelation?

Hi, please can you edit your post so that your text is hidden (like I did with your text above)? You can use the spoiler button for that (the one with the eye):

I also have problem with Bleda's deposit box. It seems a bit overcomplicated (including finding way to the vault with this drunken guard) and I cannot figure out what to do with this code.

Spoiler

The panel has 4 digits, and when I input 69 and pull the lever, nothing happens except for door opening sound. I managed to pick up Women's lockup key through the wooden surface but it feels like cheating.

Either I do something wrong, or some script doesn't work...

You have to look

Spoiler

at where the red square is when you push the buttons it moves from box to box you want it to end up on top right row.  I think the 69 part goes in the first two digits

Did not mean to double post here!

Spoiler

I tried combos like 6900 or 0069 but it didn't work. Actually the right box was red-lighted when I tried 8600 (?!). In any case it didn't open and I resorted to "noclip". Something is messed up here. Either I didn't understand the logic of puzzle, or it is bugged.

Re bleda's security deposit

Spoiler

69 is his portion, there's also a house portion it's a 4 digit code, bleda's code is the 2nd half

Hint

Spoiler

I never did find the other half so I found a code that highlighted a box on the top row 9969 & tried it then kept subtracting 100 until I hit the right combo

Outright spoiler

Spoiler

the house half of the code is 95

Sorry I misremembered this number, but trying 9969, 9869 ... 9069 will hit the right combination & at least there's only 10 to try

I enjoyed that, burgling a casino made a fun change, though I do wonder if it could have done with a larger gambling hall because in the end there were only about 3 clients.  I particularly liked the concept of the girl creeping around and leaving secret messages in dark places.

I think the hardest part was

Spoiler

finding the deposit box since I couldn't find anything that looked like deposit boxes, but I figured it out in the end.

If you do a video cutscene like this in future it might be worth getting an external HDMI recorder - the sort you'd use for games consoles - so the PC only has to worry about the game and not the video capture as well.

Spoiler

can you see the boxes turning red when you press the buttons I could't until I moved or turned that lantern off.  The boxes highlight red and it moves to a different one each time you press the buttons.  So if you get the box to turn red on the top right row you just have to keep moving it till you get it to the right spot.

yes,

Spoiler

it moves to the top about halfway along the right side.

I tried using noclip to get in, but that causes the game to freeze.

It seems strange to me, having been everywhere else and read all I could, that there is no indication of the

Spoiler

house portion required for the first half of the code.

Unless I missed something?

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
