(The Depths)

Such a beautiful piece. It does NOT sound like SNES music. And it is 100% polar opposite in terms of mood from the track that preceded it. I never heard anything else even close to as sad-sounding from that console, and I've no clue how he got the strings to sound so perfect.

Ah that's why I don't like both.

Same as in classical music there ae also in Metal peces I like and others not. I don't know if it is correct to globalize  "I don't like classic" or "I don't like metal" with hundreds of pieces never heard out there, among them great masterpieces.

A good Example of paralleism is a piece of a Black Metal band from Norway, Moonsorrow, but interpreted with the instruments of a synfonic orquestra, instead of guitarrs and growlings.

REALLY catchy music intro I heard in a while for an anarchist, socialist revolution game. I think the last time I played a game with such a theme was Red Faction.

"I really perceive that vanity about which most men merely prate — the vanity of the human or temporal life. I live continually in a reverie of the future. I have no faith in human perfectibility. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active — not more happy — nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. The result will never vary — and to suppose that it will, is to suppose that the foregone man has lived in vain — that the foregone time is but the rudiment of the future — that the myriads who have perished have not been upon equal footing with ourselves — nor are we with our posterity. I cannot agree to lose sight of man the individual, in man the mass."...

what an oxymoron, The story and theme of red faction was so dumb but so much fun. I remember laughing to myself while screaming die capitalist pig while gunning down police goons.

nice track reminds me of

Speaking of which, Red Faction made some good use of synth sometimes. Especially 1 and 2. But I loved the rock and the ambient equally. Especially the remastered tracks in 2. I think 2 tried to sound more serious. 2 Used to be my favorite game. Completed it like 30 times.

Black & White also had some cool synth though I like the second game more personally.

I've had this earworm in my head for a week now, whenever I'm working in Dark Radiant - a mashup of these two songs, but with a continuously warping bassline, which makes the song(s) a non-repeating free-form:

...and if they ever do some sort of crazy Wolfenstein: Youngblood take on a Thief 5, then I strangely wouldn't mind them replacing Garret with Gloria Estefan. ❤️ :)

They thought this song would reflect their agenda, of course they were wrong and the band made it clear that the lyrics have the opposite meaning of what they had in mind:

Nico Vega - Beast of America

That being said, Ken Levinson certainly wouldn't have used it in Bioshick Infinite if they were right. 😝

If I recall correctly, a similar video with shorter running time was part of the original release in 2013 but does not show up on the remaster.

I feel like nowadays, everyone is acting like every song must be a promotion. Has people learning nothing from metal? Sure, some bands are all about promotion - yes - but at the core, music is just art. I listen to plenty of music I ideologically "oppose", and I routinely listen to nazi podcasts because they're funny. Ideologies are just pipe dreams, and we're all going to die in just a decade from now, so have all the agendas you want, guys. :)

I love metal, but I think in some other way

Are you kidding? They even thought that this song was "the perfect song written decades ago about the attack on traditional, conservative American values".

What prompted Dee Snyder to make the following reply:

"You think i wrote a song in support of "traditional American values"? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! You funny. "

I actually took that song to mean your average teenage rebellion, so I guess I believed that too. I mean isn't the schoolboy in the music video talking back to a teacher asking him what he's going to do with his life? ...like get an education and a dayjob? ...instead of daydreaming and partying or whatever? Isn't that a rebellion against what's traditional in a way?

All changes began with a dream in every generation, with fatalism never, Nothing to do with revolution, but con evolution.

I don't quite understand what you mean, but clearly you believe that we're going to survive this multi-apocalypse, and I don't want to get into an argument, so good luck creating a better tomorrow, whatever you envision. I'm just going to spend my last days in my apartment, watching people die on the news.

I'm old and a retiree since years, I am not worried about my own future, I know that I do not have so many years ahead of me, but this does not take away what has been said and the validity of trying to change by having a responsibility with our children and grandchildren.

Hiding in your own fatalism with a 'all is lost anyway' is certainly the best way to make it really that way, becoming a subject, submissive and obedient, much to the liking of those who are destroying this world in their greed.
Fortunately, not everyone is like that, if not all of us still lived in a bloody feudalism and slavery, without the possibility of looking for ways to obtain a minimum personal sovereignty, being simple objects in property, herd animals, because 'all is lost anyway'.

I like the new frob highlight but it would nice if it was less "flickery" while moving over objects (especially barred metal doors).
