Interesting that they would complain but not here, on the official forums.

If enough people bring it up, it's always looked at, even if there's no one who can actively work on it.

I literally registered just to point out that people HAVE been raising this as a serious accessibility issue since as far back as 2008. It's been repeatedly brought up over and over and over again. And that is just here on the official forums.

If you really mean what you've said I think you should find it genuinely concerning that one of the single most widely discussed accessibility issues in gaming has been repeatedly brought up for over a decade with your game and apparently this is the first you've heard of it... even though it's even been subject to multiple issues in your issue tracking system according to these threads and other google results.

Well that second link you posted, has a bugtracker filed by me.

https://bugs.thedarkmod.com/view.php?id=3934

With 2 solutions:

a - set up hot key bindings as discussed in the thread, and hit the appropriate key at the start of each mission

or

b - extract the def/tdm_player_thief.def file from tdm_defs01.pk4, change the values in that file, and place the file in the darkmod/def folder. This would need to be kept up to date as each TDM rev comes out, in case we make changes to that file

And the poster replying that they worked.

I just press F11 to execute my autocommands.cfg and with these four lines I have the Darkmod running as smooth as Thief 2.

seta pm_bobroll "0"

seta pm_bobpitch "0"

seta pm_bobup "0"

seta com_fixedtic "1"

I've now got a lot of Darkmod fan missions to go through...

The 3rd link you posted also has solutions:

And 1 page back, you can see that the problem has already been removed.

So now, you can do seta (set and archive) the pm_ values to whatever you want and they'll stay in your config file and persist.

And 4 times over 10 YEARS is not over and over and over again
Especially since in several of those threads, solutions were presented, and accepted by the people in the threads. I would suggest next time, reading the threads you claim back up your views.

EDIT: And hyperbole like this

that one of the single most widely discussed accessibility issues in gaming

Will get you nowhere.

Yes, it does. Which makes it interesting that you yourself explicitly said that it's interesting nobody had complained here on the official forums:

I did, which is why it stood out to me so much that even though you yourself had personally been involved you would reply claiming nobody had complained here on the official forums.

I'm not colorblind at all. Does that make people pointing out that almost no modern games have proper colorblindness support hyperbole? Just because it doesn't affect you, or you choose not to pay attention to the discussion of something, doesn't make it hyperbole. Pick pretty much any modern FPS and you will find plenty  of discussion about the near universal disregard for FOV and camera movement as accessibility issues.

Denigrating those as hyperbole because you personally don't feel the affects is as bad of a look as demeaning people who bring up the importance of valid allergen warnings like gluten or colorblindness and deafness support.

My apologies for not remembering a bug tracker from 8 years ago, that was closed with solutions to the very problem you're bringing up.

And 4 times in 10 years is not a lot, not even a little bit. Especially since in almost every post you brought up, solutions/work around were discovered and shared.

Sooooooo, what are you even on about?

Didn't say it didn't affect me, cause it does. And nowhere do I see evidence that it wasn't paid attention to, as each post and ticket you brought up, had responders who offered solutions/work arounds.

The only thing being hyperbole is 4 posts in 10 years.
Hence, read the links you post, they contain solutions to the very problem you are complaining about.

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?
