Thanks for that mission, despite I'm still missing most of the safe combinations.

Also I collected so much weaponry, that I got the impression it's just the prolog I've played by now. ;D

By the way - how did you get up there ? : 😄

Running and jumping works fine.....

I always assumed I'd taste like boot leather.

I was trying to replay this awesome mission and I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this but the mission crashes the game when loaded in the 2.15 dev build. This is the error i get:
Error during initialization. Error: file script/tdm_ai_head_tracking_humanoid.script, line 13: Unknown value "m_trackActive"

That mission has custom tdm_ai_base.script file. It's possible to move all related code from that file. There will be one line added to tdm_ai_humanoid.def instead. "Displacement" has custom version of that file too, but that doesn't cause a crash in my tests.

I get the same crash when trying to load this mission.

The Dark Mod 2.15/64, linux-x86_64, code revision 11358
Build date: Aug 16 2026
Initializing event system
...902 event definitions
Initializing class hierarchy

Initializing scripts
--------- Game Map Shutdown ----------

ERROR:Error: file script/tdm_ai_head_tracking_humanoid.script, line 13: Unknown value "m_trackActive"

EDIT: If I delete tdm_ai_base.script from the pk4, the mission loads just fine.
Does this break the mission then?

This might be one for @Amadeus as he worked on a bunch of the scripting..

This is probably related to changes that Arcturus is making in 2.15:

If the changes cannot be reconciled with existing missions we can always update the scripts in the mission database.

I believe arcturus already committed the fix for this not too long ago. Displacement works on the latest SVN commit

Ok I don't have a dev environment anymore since switching to linux so will have to wait til @stgatilovto push a new dev update?

"Displacement" works, but now my scripts get overwritten, so they don't work when that mission is installed. I don't know of a way to introduce those scripts without causing any conflicts.

Or we can give up on them if they cause more trouble then it's worth.

I was playing Doom 3, and I learned how to edit maps text-by-text, this should help me a lot with finding secrets and locations I hope.
That is, if I feel sneaky and greedy...Which I always do, can't get enough 100% a mission.

So on a regular basis I try to start building something in Darkradiant but very quickly I loose interest and give up.
      I tend to
create a room, position an ai in it (or first ai, then room, probably better) put a light in it Put some stuff in it test the room in tdm Now I had this new idea:
Start of with a gigantic room. To skip the importance of sealing for the time being and to think broader than one room. Then just use ground without wall, just to visualise the structure of the level.  Then just use prefab walls and other elements (arches, etc.). Just building area's that aren't enclosed. I can always close them at a later point. Maybe this is all very logical from a mappers perspective, but tdm is the first game where I have done any kind of real mapping and I always stop at the start. It just takes too long to make something exciting.
I want to build something at some point, because over time I accumulated lots of ideas.

It would be nice to have a link to the forum thread of a mission in download section, rather than having to search for it manually, like on Thief Guild.

Anaglypta , floral and damask wallpaper look great in older homes
It’s rare to see anyone using “shader not found” wallpaper in their house

Terribly difficult juggling map designing with work, but I'm still alive and chipping away at something very special. I'm actually making a collaboration of sorts with a friend, I make the map itself and he acts as my "Chief Scope Creep Consultant" that checks in every so often to make sure this project isn't getting out of hand. It's a good system!
