Aosys Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Just found a bug with the player's lantern; not sure if it's previously been reported or not. If the player starts a level with a lantern in their inventory, and has the Toggle Lantern key assigned to something, they can turn the lantern on while the level is in the process of loading, or at the "Level Loaded" screen. Doing this results in a permanent light source that follows the player around and cannot be turned off from what I can tell. Toggling on the lantern once the level has started and this bug has been initiated only makes the player brighter (presumably adding an extra light, rather than turning the existing one off). I believe this behavior can be replicated with just about any mission, but someone might want to double-check this is the case; so far I tried it with a WIP and Tears of St. Lucia, and both of them were able to produce the bug. Amadeus Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Just tested this myself, and it is indeed a proper bug. Happens in every mission I tested on the latest beta release. I'll have to see if it is present in 2.13. EDIT: Yep, happens in 2.13 too 1 Quote FMs: A Good Neighbor, Eye on the Prize Co-FMs: Displacement, Seeking Lady Leicester, Written in Stone, The Painter's Wife
stgatilov Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 I wonder if any other hotkeys and item shortcuts also work before the game starts, or is the lantern the special one? I believe user controls during the mission load screen are delayed until the "press attack when ready" screen. So supposedly the issue happens equally with pressing buttons during "press attack when ready". 1 Quote
stgatilov Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 I tried hitting L on "when ready" screen. Also tried hitting it during loading screen. I don't see any extra light when the game starts... Quote
datiswous Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 This only happens in missions with a shop in the briefing sequence. When you decide to drop the lantern it doesn't happen. In mission A matter of hours you can drop the lantern in the shop, but when the mission is started you still have it. But then the double light bug doesn't happen. If you don't drop it, the bug happens. In Cleaning up the neigborhood there's no shop, but you do start with the lantern, so the bug doesn't happen. I tested this by pressing the L key just before clicking on the "Press Attack to start mission" screen. 2 Quote

This also happens with the spyglass for example. Then you cannot get rid of the circular view. Edit: actually, because the spyglass gui is still active, other gui's don't work properly. For example the mouse doesn't work in the inventory grid. You can also activate a flashbomb and it will activate right after you click the "Press Attack to start mission" screen. stgatilov Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 Okay, I managed to reproduce it on Saint Lucia both with lantern and spyglass. However, it happens to me only if I press the key during the "press attack when ready" screen. If I press it during loading screen, it does not happen. Quote
datiswous Posted March 8 Report Posted March 8 For me it does happen if I press it during loading screen. Also with Saint Lucia Quote
datiswous Posted March 12 Report Posted March 12 I was wondering when the tdm_main.script is loaded. Because this also loads the tdm_playertools.script . Well just guessing.. Quote
stgatilov Posted March 19 Report Posted March 19 I think I fixed it in svn rev 11214. I set full immobilization onto player when he is not ready. It prevents him from doing most of the stuff. 2 Quote
datiswous Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 I just wonder why it only happens for shop items Quote
