OK, you gave me the site, what is the EXACT tutorial!!!? I'm a noob, get it? I don't have ANY knowledge about how everything works! I need, for instance, a tutorial on how to make levels.

To sparhawk - actually, there was a movie, Earthsea, and in it, there was a sparrowhawk, so without looking at your nick too closely, I thought it was from there. Besides, I was (and am now) listening to Depeche Mode and looking over at heXen Edge of Chaos IRC every five minutes so I was probably so distracted I didn't look at your nick twice. Sorry.

And what is a fluxcapacitor? Bastian told me something regarding it but IRC removed the message so now I don't have a clue what it was about.

Did you read a tutorial how to register on this forum and read it? I gave you the list of all available tutorials. I don't think it is asked to much to actually read through them, because each tutorial lists what it is about.

What?! I thought you one of the Elders, a race of giants born of the primordial egg... Ok, I'll shut up now.

I used the video tutorials at this site, and figured the rest out myself by pressing random buttons.

Don't talk about SotSR like that please... Elders weren't giants, they were elves, and they definately didn't come out of an egg...

OK, never mind.

Not sure about a movie, but there was a trillogy written by novellist Ursula LeGuin, the Earthsea series (A Wizard of Earthsea, The Farthest Shore & The Tombs of Autan). Not bad, geared towards younger readers though. The central protagonist was named Sparrowhawk (aka Ged). Sounds like someone made it into a film.

A flux capacitor is a fictional device that forms the main part of a time machine, as featured in the Back to the Future movie trillogy (what is it with fucking trilogies - why does everything have to come in threes?). Being a fictional plot device (like warp drives or transporters), I don't think I could explain it any further.

I suppose Bastian wanted me to go back and have sleep... Well, I'll go thank him, and thank you for the explanation.

And, yes, there was Ursula de Guin, she write the trilogy, and there was quite a good movie Ethersea about the first part of her book.

A sparrow-hawk is kind of an oxymoron.

Not really, hawks often prey on sparrows, so a sparrowhawk is a hawk that primarily eats sparrows. Or it could be a very small type of hawk. My knowledge of northern hemisphere raptor common names is limited, but I would be surprised if there wasn't a bird called a sparrowhawk, given the typical dietary habits of hawks and similar raptors.

According to that logic, a cheesemouse is a mouse that eats primarily cheese, while a hammouse is one primarily eating ham?I wonder where you got that notion from... :)

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.

Maybe a bit of advice ? In the FM series I'm preparing, the two main characters have the given names Toby and Agnes (it's the protagonist and deuteragonist, respectively), I've been toying with the idea of giving them family names as well, since many of the FM series have named protagonists who have surnames. Toby's from a family who were usually farriers, though he eventually wound up working as a cobbler (this serves as a daylight "front" for his night time thieving). Would it make sense if the man's popularly accepted family name was Farrier ? It's an existing, though less common English surname, and it directly refers to the profession practiced by his relatives. Your suggestions ?

Looks like the "Reverse April Fools" releases were too well hidden. Darkfate still hasn't acknowledge all the new releases. Did you play any of the new April Fools missions?
