'Grape arrows'. These arrows explode into a cluster of grapes. The guards will happily munch on the grapes for several minutes while you sneak by.

'Blood arrows'. Make a guard think he's dead for a while, without failing any 'no kill' objectives.

'Sardine arrows'. You can fit a lot into one small inventory.

'Mellow mine'. When triggered it releases a drug like aroma that will render the guard too mellow and laid-back to attack.

'String arrows'. To distract playful cats.

I just finished the "self kill arrow". This is a very usefull thing. When you are chased by a lot of guards, you can shoot it into your back. It will splash some realistic looking blood along with some anaesthetic which instantly knocks you out. When the guard reaches you it will think that somebody else killed you and after getting calm again it will just let you lie there, at which time you can get up and go about your business again.

I'm still tweaking the controls to be able to shoot in your own back though.

I think it's self explanatory. This is what Thief 3 would have been like had it not been for the Xbox, which inevitably curved some of the more creative ideas. So, The Dark Mod will inevitably finish some of Ion Storm's more creative works, notably extensive use of the Rat Pro arrow in many areas.

I do seem to remember someone mentioning the thief gaining a chainsaw arrow from the Inventor's guild about halfway through the campaign.

I think you forgot a few essential arrows in that diagram there... the frosty arrow, it basically allows you when shot to turn flames to frozen flames and when you aim it at a guard, he will turn into frosty the snowman, boy i cant wait till you implement that one. OMG imaginge the Fear as you are being chased by a whole lot of Frosties.

And the barney arrow, which turns every guard into a pink dinosaur that wants to hug you instead of kill you.

You can tell that barney is coming from the specialised soundbits implemented, such as his infamous song:

"You love me, I love you, we are a loving family" (the good thing is that when you have shot the guard with the barney arrow turning him into barney and then shot him again with the broadhead or fire arrow you will get an extra percentages for putting barney out of his misery!)

Lmao

'Dram arrow'. Will accuse everything hit of being gay. As guards struggle to defend their sexuality you can sneak past, unnoticed...

omfglol. I don't accuse everything of being gay, and if i do its unfortunately the common way of talk here.

lol

you never know...could be a useful arrow :P

hey, that buzz bomb arrow looks like an idea I had for t2. Remember those praying mantis thingys that shot a cloud of bugs at you? I had an idea for an arrow that would fire a small container of them at guards, chasing them off while you sneaksie by. The arrow would have had yellow and black bands alternating on the arrowhead, and when you drew it back you could hear a low buzzing noise. The drawback to the arrow would be that if the cloud spotted you, they would swarm you instead and the bugs would hang out in an area for a while, making it unsafe to cross.

ALERT: THIS IS JUST A WHIMISICAL IDEA!! DO NOT FLIP OUT! DO NOT FLIP OUT!!!

P.S. T2 was a product of Looking Glass Studios, and has nothing directly to do with the wonderful Dark Mod, which is has nothing to do with Looking Glass Studios. Any apparent overlaps between the two has to be the product of a deranged mind. T3 is a product of Eidos, and has nothing to do with the Dark Mod, which is a sweet blessing.

Wasn't there a mod for Doom or Doom2 that turned the barons of hell into Barney? I distinctly remember gibbing Barney in Doom... damn, now I feel old.

Very cool - I like the social akwardness arrow, and the picture of the pointless arrow. That would be good to replace all the guards arrow stockpile with, so they don't notice straight away.

What about the casual sex arrow? When hit, the guard will run off with the nearest person of opposing gender, dissapear into a room for a while, then spend the rest of the mission trying to avoid each other and being too embarassed to hang around anyone else. Great for splitting up clusters of guards.

I had a similar idea. The table-dancer mine. When triggered it will spawn a holographic projection of a beautifull naked woman or man, depending on the sexual orientiation of the AI which will cause it to google at it and forget everything around it.

Ah! And while we are at it, a marihuanna arrow would also make sense. :)

Don't forget about "Cupid Mode" where you'll go around firing heart-shaped Arrows of Love to make the AI realise that they've been right for eachother all along, despite their fundamental differences. Then everyone lives happily ever after and you can loot the wedding parties.

Finally got my PC back from the shop after my SSD got corrupted a week ago and damaged my motherboard. Scary stuff, but thank goodness it happened right after two months of FM development instead of wiping all my work before I could release it. New SSD, repaired Motherboard and BIOS, and we're ready to start working on my second FM with some added version control in the cloud just to be safe!

I've updated the articles for your FMs and your author category at the wiki. Your newer nickname (DeTeEff) now comes first, and the one in parentheses is your older nickname (Fieldmedic). Just to avoid confusing people who played your FMs years ago and remember your older nickname. I've added a wiki article for your latest FM, Who Watches the Watcher?, as part of my current updating efforts. Unless I overlooked something, you have five different FMs so far.

I've finally managed to log in to The Dark Mod Wiki. I'm back in the saddle and before the holidays start in full, I'll be adding a few new FM articles and doing other updates. Written in Stone is already done.
